(I am almost done with it though so I have read enough to review it.) First of all let me just tell you that there are 108 chapters in this book which sounds like a long book, but it isn't. Each of the chapters are only a few pages long because they switch the point of view between the two main characters Wisty and Whit. Wisty is 15 and Whit is about 18. I too am 15 so I got to see how Patterson did writing from a teen girl's P.O.V. and he did pretty well. Wisty is a very sassy girl who stands up for herself and her brother throughout the story which is why I like her a lot. Whit is a tough guy who needs to be strong for his sister through the story and the change of their world. They both are there for each other when they need to be. I must also add that they are both funny when they make smart comebacks to the guards and other people. That is all I am going to add about the characters because if I keep going on then you won't even need to buy this book haha! The plot is followed well through the whole story. I have had a few moments where I was like "Huh? What does that mean?" or "What just happened?" but it explained itself in time. To end this review for those who actually read it, I am going to just say that it has been a very great book to read and it kept me on my toes! I couldn't even put my Kindle down (as that is what I'm reading it on). You will always be wanting to read more to see what happens! :) Review: WITCH AND WIZARD - I loved James Patterson's Maximum Ride series, so I thought I'd try another this other one by him written for young adults.(teens or preteens.) I gave it 4 stars because while it was a better written book than Max ride, I found the characters less likeable. This may change though, after I read the next books in the series, which this first one prompted me to do after ending with a cliff hanger. It is about a brother and a sister, ages 15 and 18, and they find out they are a witch and wizard. I won't put any spoilers here, but they go through a lot to try to escape and help others out of prison. They didn't use their powers as much as I would have hoped, but that might change in the next book since they will have had them longer. It is fantasy, suspense, realistic, and overall a fast, interesting read. I, a 14 year old girl, recommend this book for ages 11 and up. There is a little violence, so if you are sensitive to that maybe 12 and up. But, if you are younger and are good at reading and don't mind a little action, read it! There are plenty more in this series already, so we don't have to wait for the next one too come out. Well, that's my review. As a recap, teens and preteens would like this book if you enjoy action and some magic. :)

What a great book
I have not read many James Patterson's books but this one was very very good. I read it in about 2 days. The story keeps you interested and you do not want to put the book down. The book is about a brother and sister who know and do magic. I bought this book on a whim because I say the 4th one is due to come out in February. So I thouht, I might as well get the first one and see what it is like. The book is easy to follow and keeps your interest. It some times back tracks to explain something but not very often. I am not an YA but do like reading some of the books that are targeted to that age group. So now off to the second book. Happy reading everyone.

Entertaining...If Nothing Else
I absolutely love dystopian, end-of-life-as-we-know-it, type of novels. George Orwell's 1984 (Signet Classics) and Margaret Atwood's The...

Witch and wizard
A few people have been complaining about the plot of this book and though I admit the chapters are a bit short, the reader really gets the characters, there are twists and suspense, and it has a very interesting topic . I really enjoyed this book and will be purchasing the next one as soon as possible. You also get who is "good and bad" and everything is very well explained. There are betrayals and loss, it is a marvelous book in my opinion and that is why I rated it five on five. Thank you James Patterson!

witch& Wizard (Witch &Wizard series Book 1)
Great book! Great imagination and insight! A young girl and her brother find that they have magic powers and learn how to use them to find and save their parents.. and humanity. A great fantasy novel and lot of sleepless nights. Read it… it’s a fun ride!

Serial
This is the first in a series, but more to the tune of a serial. It does not have a definitive end, as it just finds a good stopping place and you are expected to shell out more money to keep reading, which probably still won't come to an end as there are several books. Not my type of reading. I like series, but where each "problem" is solved in each book. It is well written and interesting, I'm just not inclined to buy any more.

Hard to Put Down
Never read a novel by James Patterson (I may be a minority!). Not sure what kind of writer he is in the adult genre but I found this teen fantasy to be a very good read. I like a book that keeps my interest from beginning to end and this one sure did! A lot of twists and turns; there was enough humor to make it fun rather than dark and frightening. I've recommended this to my teen age daughter and hope she'll pursue the story. In any event, I'll definitely be continuing the series.
