Well, I was using a pair of Husky lineman's pliers that cost me $11 buck way back when I started as an electrical apprentice and they served me well all these years, until I realized I left them in a basement full of junk on a rainy day and I refused to go back to that house for them (crazy home owner)... So I chose to purchase these Knipex lineman's pliers for a lot more money than the Husky's, and boy I have not regretted the decision so far. I've only had them a couple of days, but man they're light, very sharp (maybe 'cause they're still new) making the cutting very easy, they were very well lubricated out of the packaging, the handles are comfortable and grippy, the jaws open a lot wider than Husky's and even Klein's tools. They seem of very good quality and very functional, so here's to hoping they last me a good time. I would definitely recommend these pliers to anyone serious about upgrading their electrical tools.

I have been using Klein tools for 50 years. Ordered a set of lineman's pliers they were misaligned they were not deburred, they suck sent them back ordered these and they are perfect, like you would expect for 60 bucks.

My son who works for an electrician said these are fantastic! Very easy to use & handle. They came right away so easier then going to Lowe’s & great price.

No complaints on these bad boys, Everything works great right out of the package. This is what I have come to trust and expect from knipex. If you want a pair of linesman pliers that will be with you for a long time, these are it. Cutter and jaws are sharp. Absolutely no slipping when twisting wire together. Love the solid feel and zero slop in the rivet, but there not tight out of the package they move smooth and free. Crimpers work great as well. Simply put I love em' they far surpass my last pair "not knipex" that had blue and black handles.

I am a long time Klein user, and I've decided to make the switch progressively to Knipex based off reviews and personal opinions from co-workers. I am also dissapointed that Klein now sources the tools being made to other country's. I find these to be of equal if not superior quality, with the exception of the defect in the pair I received. They are more comfortable, cut better and easier than my Klein 2000 series. Attached is an image of the defect. I will update my review to 5 stars after I receive a new pair from amazon this week for replacement. I believe they are 5 star worthy so long as this is a one off. ***Update 12/22/15*** I've received my replacement product defect free. I've showed these to a Journeyman of 40 years I work with and he also bought a pair after using them for a few hours.

Been using a pair of klein linesman for a year and it would annoy me when the wire id be twisting would slip but then after getting these I haven’t had that same issue and also had a situation where I literally gripped some wire with these and hung on the wire and seriously did not even slip one bit. Trust me when I say the grip these got on the ends are impressive

I am not an electrician. But I decided to treat myself when I saw it at a steal price of $62 here in Canada. (It might have been an Amazon Warehouse item. These are supposedly used but really normally just have damaged packaging.) Even though it’s a North American style pair of pliers, you can get them in Europe, sometimes for a really good price. I recently saw them for 30 euros on Amazon.fr but that’s an unusually low price, This is a heavy-duty and versatile pair of electrician’s pliers: it has high leverage, so you use less force; it has comfortable grips; it can crimp terminals; it can cut through larger diametre wires; the jaws are cross-serrated so provide better grip; it has a fish tape puller.
