Henna Hair Color & Conditioner - Medium Brown Hair Dye for Men/Women, Organic Henna Leaf Powder and Botanicals, Chemical-Free Semi-Permanent Hair Color, 4 Oz

This is the second time I have purchased this product although last time I bought a darker color. It is a great product and seems to last pretty well. I use it to cover some bleached ends of my hair and even out the overall color. It definitely lightens and reveals the blonde over time but it is completely fine for the first 8 weeks. It is very easy to use, I recommend using a glass bowl and some kind of silicone whisk to get out all the clumps. I added the full amount of water and it was a great consistency. I have a shoulder length bob and it was more than enough henna. I put a VERY generous covering and still had some left over. I think you would be fine with one box up until mid-back length hair. It is very messy so I have found that it is best to start at the crown and twist the hair around itself moving out to the edges. The instructions are very specific but I don't think it is actually as hard a product to use as the instructions make it seem. My one complaint is that it smells absolutely horrible. But it is plants so I don't know what you would expect. For the first three-ish washes you smell like literal seaweed until it dries. I put some lavender oil in my hair to cover it up at first but it only helps a little. Now it has been about 3-4 weeks and it smells fine and the color is still great (I use castile soap and ACV to wash my hair as well, which is not color safe).

I've been using this henna for four years and I love it!! I mix together about a half a cup of henna and enough warm water to make it the consistency of Greek yogurt using a glass bowl and plastic spoon. For shorter hair you won't need to use as much. It will be a greenish color when you first mix it, this is NORMAL. I read a review saying they thought they had gotten a bad batch because it was green, this is not so. It will be green for a while, then it turns an orangey color after it oxidizes. Which is also normal. I usually use it right away, while it's green because it doesn't matter. I put on neoprene gloves and coat the entirety of my head and the whole length of my hair. Then I pile my hair on top of my head and cover it in a plastic bag to let it set for four hours. After the four hours is up I get in the shower and rinse out as much of the product as I can, and I know it says not to wash your hair for several days afterwards but I have found that my hair will be course and tangle very easily and I get horrible split ends if I don't wash it once and use a good conditioner right after. Also the color is very vibrant and orange for the first few days, after that the color will fully oxidize and tone down a bit. It stays vibrant just doesn't look like you just colored your hair. It will look more natural. At least it does on me. (I'm very fair skinned and have naturally auburn hair). I recommend laying down an old towel over any surface that may get dripped on during the dying process, it's a messy process and you will get drops on the floor and counter tops. And it will stain orange if it's not immediately cleaned up. Also I recommend putting a thin layer of coconut oil or Vaseline on your forehead, ears, and back of your neck being careful not to get it in your hair as the henna will not color your hair where there's oil or Vaseline. I use the henna every few months. You can use it more often then that, I just don't use it very often because it's such a messy process that I don't like doing it more often then that. Love it! I’ve used this product for many years on my hair. It covers my gray and last me about two months. I leave it on for about one and a half to two hours. Several stylists over the years have been impressed with the resulting color. Also leave my hair soft.

very affordable and works well i dye my moms grey roots with this monthly and it works like a charm and saves her hair from dye damage however she noticed a change in hair texture since using this which i believe is normal with henna and should be expected. She has been chemical dye free for over 2 years now thanks to the affordability of this wonderful natural product. oh and my most recent box came with a bonus free gift of hair clips which was really awesome!

This product has ruined my life! (At least it feels that way now) I was hoping for a nice warm brown for fall that would fade over a few months so I can go back to my blond highlights in January before vacation. What I got instead is almost black with very GREEN tones. It hasn't faded at all over two weeks. I am skipping Thanksgiving with family because it is THAT bad. This is the worst product ever! And yes, I read and thoroughly followed the instructions. ****update*** it has been 8 WEEKS and it is not fading at all! This is a hideous mess! Black hair with a green cast! This product should be taken off the market! ****update**** 10 weeks and still no fading! Do not buy this TERRIBLE product!

I have used this product off and on for years. I like it because it makes my hair very soft - conditions it. And the color is nice - more distinct when I have patience. It's takes 1-4 hours - and often I don't want to wait long. I have been using an old fashioned hair drier - with a bonnet. Not a big fan of the gloves or hair container. I use gloves I already have for cleaning and various house activiites and have started just wrapping my hair with saran wrap type wrap. I also found that it is less messy if I use it fairly thick - more like paste. A massage therapist told me I have the softest hair she ever felt. And very manageable.

I tried multiple henna brands, this is the best! I dye my brown hair with henna, i also have some whites. It is kind of messy but it is worth it! Lot cheaper and healthier than other options. You can not go wrong with henna. My whites turns red and brown strings has reddish hue. I love it! I don’t want to use chemical hair dyes and damage my hair. I add a tablespoon of olive oil, boil black tea and add its water, then henna. Leave henna for 2-3hours to wait. Add a bit more hot water to warm it up, then leave on my hair through the night. Wash throughly with water and apply conditioner only for the first wash.
