I Know Brake Pads Well...
I spent 19 years in the automotive world, most of them as an outside rep, dealing with automotive repair facilities. I have spoken to God only knows how many professional installers and ceramics have a bit of a rep for being problematic and this is why many if not most installers go Original Equipment when installing ceramics... They do this as a manner of insurance if you will; IF the vehicle comes back, the customer won't think you installed an inferior product by using something other than factory. As you can imagine, some brake lines have better reputations than others. The professional installers I spoke with, thought very highly of Wagner's Thermo-Quiet Ceramics. Installers are pretty damn to the point. They want the brakes they install to work, fit, last and NOT MAKE NOISE! The Last Thing an installer wants is for your car to come back! - They lose their ass on comebacks and brakes are probably the #1 comeback area of any repair shop. When it came to ceramics; Wagner's Thermo-Quiet line had the best reputation regarding aftermarket brake padsArguably the biggest home-run about the Thermo-Quiet line is the shimming. The reason shims are attached to the back of brake pads is to absorb vibration and help prevent brake noise. There are a lot of shim designs out there, ranging from terrible to terrific and I can assure you, having seen every other manufacture's way of dealing with shims... Wagner put some serious money into this area! What comes on this line is not at all cheap and is quite often an upgrade from what you O.E.Bottom line, I could have put any ceramic brake pad made by any manufacturer out there on my wife's Rav4 and I wouldn't give a damn about the cost. I chose Wagner's Thermo-Quiet line for a reason and they have performed flawlessly. When it came time to put brakes on my Corolla... Again, I could have put anyone's ceramic pads on my car but I chose these for a reason.

Excellent Item, amazing technology
I bought these along with new rotors to replace the front brakes on my girlfriends car.I'd like to talk briefly on why these get 5 stars and why I say amazing technology. The build quality of these pads are excellent, having used high end pads on my own cars before I feel confident in saying these are an absolute steal for the price. Can you buy better? sure. Will you have to spend considerably more to do that? yes.The bedding (wear in) process is incredibly fast compared to other pads, usually I have to make a special trip to a lonely highway and spend a substantial amount of time doing various slow and high-speed soft and hard-stops to properly mate the pads to the rotors, but these pads were biting before I got there, I was really impressed, I hadn't even made it out of the city and they were ready to go cross country.Smoking and smell, completely normal after a brake pad change (especially a brake pad and rotor change), seemed to also be over with very quickly when compared to my other experiences. And as for their name, thermo"quiet", they earn it in spades. These things don't make a peep, and you don't have to add anything special to them which is very very nice.I don't mean to cross reference other reviews in a negative manner, however I do think it is unfair to talk poorly of a product that one themselves did not deal with. Who knows how dirty the mechanics hands were upon installment and what sort of contaminants made their way onto the pad or rotor surface, or the lack of proper brake cleaning done. All I know is my own experience, and having personally installed these and done the job right, there is no way they deserve less than 5 stars.

Quiet
I had these installed by a shop since I don't have my own space to do so, but as far as any squeaking goes ,I have not heard any noise coming from these at all ,not even when I drove off the Shop. So far I am very pleased with them.

Good brake pads
I installed these with new rotors and they are a good brake pad. They have good stopping power and are nice and quiet(don't forget to use brake grease on the back of your pads on install to prevent squeaking) Wagner makes quality pads and these were a good price. I drive a lot of miles and I expect these will be good for a long time to come.

To thick of a Back Plate
The pads seem like a great value for the pads. I usually use Akebono pads however I was to the point where I need something fast and these were it. I purchased these with new wagner rotors and the driver side is completely done for. The pad back plate was to thick to go into the bracket I struggled to get it in however I got it in and now about 100 50-75 miles later my brakes are smoking too much on one side due to the backing plate and my pad caused uneven wear on the back side of the rotor. Now I have to go out and buy another rotor and a new set of pads.

Highly Recommend
Bought these for 2000 corolla. Also bought the Centric standard rotor. Changed them, drove the car for a mile, breakin-in the brakes...Smell and smoke then viola. Super quiet and very effective. You can't go wrong! I could use the old rotors as they had small wear but new ones are just as cheap as the labor and time you need to spend to have the rotors turned. Just a thought...

Is it safe to drive? Yes Quiet? No, not in my case.
I put these on my 00' Corolla and like another buyer, hear the same rattle. I think it needs some shims even though it came with none and claims on the box say none is needed due to design. Or maybe a new set of clips are needed, even though the previous ones are in good condition. The good news is in the future the pads should slide off easily, the bad news is left as is, the pads are loose and the car sounds like it will literally fall apart on the road as one drives. I have more pressing issues with my old car so I look into it later to eliminate the noise.Interestingly enough, I have Wagner ThermoQuiets on a different vehicle and those came with shims, clips, lube, etc. These came with nothing other than the pads themselves. If I can't quiet these down, I wouldn't get these again, I'd get others which actually snug up and don't rattle.
