Helps in the hot garage
I got this to help pull heat out of my hot garage in the summer. I live in Southern California and outside can be over 100 degrees with the garage being hotter. It does get a little loud. I notice sometimes when I am in the garage and my neighbor does not; it flows next to his house. It has a temperature control so you can set it to turn on at a little higher or lower temp. My neighbor loved the way it pulled heat out so much he got one too. I am glad to have this . I did have to learn to leave the door in garage cracked a little bit as the suction from the fan would put a strong hold on the door to the house. The first time it was on the door between house and garage felt like someone was holding it so I couldn't open it. Cracking the outside door a little bit helps ventilate the air and stop the suction seal.

Working great
We purchased the fan for a boiler room that has a computer, to avoid the room getting too warm. Installation was pretty easy - although the 14" fan has a 14.25" housing.... or studs were 14" - so we had to shave one side to get the fan into the wall. aside from that - we put it in, plugged it in, and it's been coming on as needed automatically for several days now - keeping the room a LOT cooler (there are other vents to allow air in). the fan has some power - and with that comes a little noise - so having it next to your head while on the phone would not be ideal - this is not a wimpy fan. thermostat was super easy to set, and love that it has an on/off switch, as well as an over-ride "on" in case we wanted to leave it on. This came in handy when some construction dust was in the air - we left it on for a few minutes, and the room was cleared. then we switched back to thermostat and it's been doing great. looks nice - louvers all work (I saw some comments that they didn't always work - ours have no issue). I would consider this a pretty good industrial fan, at a very good price. For us, it was a perk not to have to hard wire it - as there was an outlet right there already.

Decent. Shutters don't shut all the time though.
14" thermostat fan Works well for my 750 sqft garage- although I may get anouther. The shutter does not shut all the time, and I wish the cord was longer. Speed control is you can select 1 of 3 speeds that get turned on and off by the thermostat, or all always on. Like a cealing fan you have three pulls for the different speeds and the fourth pull turns it off.

Works as good as described
Just installed this 14” exhaust fan in my ARizona garage….I had to add a 1.5” box frame to allow the shutters to open all the way. Without that they were hitting the outside wall and only opening 1/2 way. I painted the box frame to match garage wall, opened up the exterior vent to the same size (14”) so as much air going out as coming in. Then added additional vent on outside of the house, will paint to match exterior today. So far there is a noticeable difference in my garage temperature which was my goal. It did take me about 4 hours to do the total job. On a difficulty level I’d say 3 out of 10….fairly straightforward except building the box frame to move it out far enough to allow clearance. 😀 Steve A.

Save Your Roof Shingles
Just found out that heat is the main thing that destroys roof shingles. Attic fans sure cut down on the heat in the attic, which not only prolongs the life of the shingles, but reduces your electric bill and saves wear and tear on your AC unit. This was easy for my handyman to install, and it has worked well the couple of months I've had it. Very glad I invested in this project.

motors do not last.
I bought two of these. Both fans failed within 6 months of use. bought replacement fan motor, wired up. It fied in 6 months. Dont buy this. The motors are not long lasting.

Moves a lot of air!
It was a little heavy when you're the only one on the ladder. Have help, just in case. I installed in an attic gable. It runs very quiet and moves a lot of air. Definitely helps lower temps in the living space. If your using it in a green house, garage, or whatever, it has a pull cord so it can be turned on or off by hand.

thermostat control is good, the 3 speed fan is a good feature most times l run on low however as the day warms you have the option to increase the air flow by switching to medium or high. We use this unit to help lower the temperature in a small 6'x18' green house
