Large Shut Off Hose Clamp

These are larger than I was thinking, but it works great. They're about the size of a large D battery.I use these to water my plants and it's easy to use 1 handed to give a lot of flow or just a little.

I ordered and received this hose clamp. After inspecting it, I had to shake my head and wonder how in the world this small, 39 cent simple piece of plastic is actually set to sell at almost $5! Wow.....

Doesn't seem to work for my application. I have it for occluding a 1/2" silicone tube that leads to a vacuum on a goat milking machine that I made. I was hoping that using this clamp would completely occlude the tube and maintain the vacuum so that the teat cups didn't fall off of the goats. But I can't seem to clamp it tight enough to maintain the vacuum pressure, so I gave up.The od of the hose is 1/2" and the Id is 1/4", so perhaps this would work fine on thinner walled hosing. In fact I'm fairly sure it would, but my hose is pretty thick...
