I love dates and these are very good dates. I’m happy to have such a nice big bag on hand for snacking and baking. These dates are perfectly moist, but not overly moist. They smell wonderful. They’re not hard, so cutting them won’t be difficult when they’re used for baking. The texture and color are pleasing. They’d be nice as a snack for a party or potluck as a healthy snack option. Dates are often referred to as nature’s candy and these are as good as candy, but much healthier. Update 4/27/25: The second package I ordered had a torn bag and had to be thrown away because the shipping box smelled like chemicals which cause me to have serious allergic reactions. I couldn’t keep it long enough to return it. Normally, I’m able to wash outer packaging and put food into other containers. I couldn’t do that with dates that might have become contaminated. These packages seem pretty sturdy, so I’m not sure how it was slit open on the back of the package.

So as my title says, I have purchased this brand several times and they have always been fresh. This is the best price and bargain that I have found. Deglect Nour (also called Deglect Noor) dates have a firm flesh, medium-sized & semi-dry; with a sugary flavor. Because of their lower sugar content and sweet flavor, they are the preferred variety for sugar alternatives. I mostly use them for my homemade date balls. They are great for gifting during the holidays or any other time. My Vegan friend & gluten-free sister love them. Here's a recipe idea... measure and substitute for your own preference. Just add dehydrated raisins, blueberries or other fruit, your choice of nuts, some sunflower or other preferred seeds, coconut and a little maple syrup. Roll them up into balls, then extra coconut and there you go! Fresh dates are key to these being so tasty.

3-5 of these are a great glycemic snack when your craving sweet chewy. This is a large bag so if you don't have a large family or a specific recipe you're fulfilling, a smaller bag might be warranted. Yupik always delivers quality dried fruits with enough moisture to satisfy your chew desire. I have never encountered a pit in the several bags that I've purchased this year. They are great for baking! Be cautious - if you don't use them "in time" they will begin to ferment. That's when I share with the woodland critters and purchase the next bag. Give them a try - you'll be glad you did.
