Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel 1 Liter, Active Wheel Cleaner

Best wheel cleaner I’ve tried so far. Works fantastic to help me keep my wheels clean on my M3 that has racing brake pads. The wheels get absolutely caked in brake dust after a weekend of cruising, yet this stuff makes car washes so much easier. My only complaints would be the smell, as it smells like rotting eggs, and the price is also pretty high for a single product, but for how well it cleans wheels, I think it’s worth it.

By far the best wheel cleaner I have tried. Even using pure iron removers like iron X still cannot get the brake dust from a track day off my wheels. Two applications of Bilt Hamber and absolutely all of the track dust is gone.

Used on the very difficult to keep clean 718M rims on my X3. It ended up doing the job. Tip 1: Do not perform the rim cleaning on your driveway. You will not be able to remove the reddish / black stains without using another aggressive chemical cleaner (as I found out the hard way). Tip 2: Completely cover all disc brake rotor surfaces using any method (I used some old t-shirts), otherwise it will do nasty things to the surfaces of brake rotors. As I found out in a small area. Tip 3: Wear clear eye protection (glasses, goggles, etc) which can be bought at any H/W outlet for just a few bucks. You don't want this product accidentally getting to your eyes. I wore a N95 mask also, but it is less necessary. After thoroughly cleaning and power washing the rims at a local do-it-yourself car wash facility, I followed the simple directions and applied to the Front rims first. The Bilt Hammer works just like a great Tub & Tile cleaner, and perfectly removed all old (or really old) brake dust. I did not have to do any scrubbing at all. Like a dream. The Rear rims however where a different story. After the first application, I still had major areas of old break dust residue on the rims. I then applied Bilt Hammer a 2nd time. Again, power washed off. Same thing. So then I soaked a rough towel with Bilt Hammer and went to work scrubbing aggressively at the rims. It took an extra 1/2 hour, but all areas cleaned up well. So, just know that like any really bad bathroom tub or tiles that have not had any aggressive cleaning in some time done to them, that your rims will be similar. It might take elbow grease to remove the older brake residue. But it will do the job! Also: After all surfaces where completely cleaned I spent the next couple of hours using Chemical Brothers MAXcoat Wheel Guard to protect the rims and make future clean ups a lot easier from now on. The application of MAXcoat was time consuming, but it went on / off great. Time will tell if it prevents brake dust from adhering to the rims.

This product is THE BEST wheel cleaner, hands down! It reacts the fastest I've ever seen in a wheel cleaner. It tackles the iron and ferrous metals very hard and cleans your wheels fast. This is the product you'd want to use to clean out very very messy rims or areas where scrubbing with dish soap just won't do. EDIT: I have changed my mind to a 5 star. Although the smell is horrendous, you'll get used to it quite fast. Think of a salon where they used too much dye. The smell will linger in whatever room you put it in. WEAR GLOVES! The smell will stay on you for quite some time regardless if you wash it off or not. If you're sensitive in smell, this might make you queasy. If you can overlook the smell OR acclimate to it, this will be the perfect cleaning product for wheels. Just one slight problem for USA buyers--the product isn't cheap to purchase. One bottle of 1000ml will run you at least $30usd.

I've tried about all the iron contaminate removers (NanoSkin, Iron-X, Eagle1, etc.) on both wheels and auto paint and the Bilt Hamber cleaner is hands down the best of the lot. No, it's not inexpensive... but it's not something you're going to use every wash on a personal vehicle either and the RESULTS are well worth the money. The product has the right amount of viscosity to reman in place for iron deposit removal, reacts quickly on deposits by turning a purple color, cleans up with water. You won't regret buying Bilt Hamber. PS_ The bottle sprayer is VERY good and the smell, while not to be confused with Channel No.5, is tolerable.

This stuff is powerful. I was negligent with the rims so they were extremely dirty. I tried another product that helped. So instead of putting physical labor in, I labored and found this stuff. It was a great decision on my part. I will continue to buy this product.

I recently had the chance to try out Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel on the alloy wheels of my Subaru, and I have to say, I was really impressed with its performance. This pH neutral wheel cleaner requires minimal agitation and is designed to deeply clean the most stubborn road dirt and grime from wheels, without damaging them. One of the things I really liked about this product was its thick and clingy consistency, which meant I didn't waste much of it while using. It also turned purple as it worked on brake dust, making it easy to see where it was most effective. Even without much agitation, the product ate into baked-in dust and pitting on the wheels, leaving them squeaky clean after just a rinse with the garden hose. Overall, I found Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel to be a highly effective and easy-to-use product that is also great value for its price. The only downside I found was that it doesn't smell amazing, but that's a small price to pay for such an effective wheel cleaner.

I decided to clean my alloys that had not cleaned properly for maybe 2 years due to illness. I sprayed this product iaw the instructions and allowed it a few minutes to work on the dirt. The wheels duly turned a deep red from being a nasty brown colour and it was clear the stuff was working. I then hosed down the wheels with a jet and *********!!!!!!!!!!! WOW !!!!!!!!!!********, the rear wheels were bright and shiny and 90% of the dirt washed off the front wheels. I left the car about 15 minutes in the sun (Yes the Sun, bit of a novelty I know this year) to dry and repeated the process. The remainder of the dirt just washed away with no scrubbing or polishing. Absolutely amazing stuff and worth every penny of the extra cash.

It is the best wheel cleaner I have ever used. A bad boy! I will order it again. The inside if the rims is clean after rinsing only, no scrubbing ! Also the tires, after a good rub, they are looking like new.
