Perfect for powering a mini USB powered dash cam, hardwired into vehicle.
I hadn’t realized 12v wasn’t useable by a mini USB powered device. I wanted to hard wire the dash cam into my vehicle instead of using the cigarette lighter plug. I wired it to 12v at the car’s fuse box but then the camera wouldn’t turn on. Only then did I learn USB uses 5v. This DC/DC converter takes your 12v supply and outputs 5v, exactly what the camera is looking for. Great product, works perfectly.

Works for my dash cam.
I used this for a hard wire dash cam on 2 of my vehicles. Haven’t had an issue and it’s been almost a year. Provides enough power for the camera. They’re built well and great for the price.

It really works. I'm using about 700mA, and it barely warms.
I got this little guy for to run a 5V Netgear unmanaged switch from a 12V source. It does its job, is sealed more or less, protected from moisture. So far it has worked great. The switch draws up to 700mA from the 5V output. A small piece of double-stick tape holds it on the scope mount.

Works Great, 12V in 5V out
Power Converter works well. Used for a college engineering project (projectile turret) to get a 5V line from the 12V line to power our micro and servos. Measuring on the scope there is little to no voltage ripple on the output even with dynamic loads due to motor/servo switching on an off. Tested up to 1.2A and worked great. Little bit on the pricier side, but is nice to just buy it and forget instead of trying to spec an inductor, build a control circuit and buck converter manually, quick and dirty plug and play solution great for prototyping.

very good product.

Worked like a champ.
Worked as intended. Wire ends came stripped and tinned. That really sped up the installation process.

Perfect.
I used this to hardwire a USB-powered dash cam versus using the cigarette lighter port and USB block. Works perfect.

Works well as intended
Very easy to install and quite light and easy to mount. The only caveat was that there were no instructions, but other than that the item works as intended.
