DK Workbooks: Geography, Second Grade: Learn and Explore

A basic book on geography. Nothing is explained in excessive detail. One page per topic. Each page explains the topic in a sentence or two.I used this book to homeschool my 2nd grader. If I wanted to implement more information on the subject we were learning, I would pull something up on YouTube. I did, however, rely on this book as a good outline of what needed to be taught.

I have tried a few different geography books throughout my homeschool adventure with my kids and this has been our favorite! Perfect length lessons and good reading level for my son.

Looks like it will work great for my 2nd grader this year for homeschooling to learn a little bit about Geography. It has the answer key and gives you a teacher guide under each answer key.

After looking for geography books for my kindergartener I came across this series. The kindergarten one is very simplistic and for advanced kids, a quick job, but by this 2nd grade it becomes quite a challenge and I’d say effectively graded.They ask you to find what’s closest on maps, discuss the oceans and continents, discuss plants and animals, finally and probably most importantly advance the previous books map interpretation questions. Asking you to describe maps, where things are, what’s the most windy areas and all based on map reading.I’m definitely buying the next level. I also must add it isn’t super long, but for the price point it’s very good.

My children find the lessons engaging and love the activities. This workbook gets them talking about geography, making their own maps and legends, and interested in learning more. No fights to get this done. I have to tell them to do their other work before they get to do this book. :)

This is a great addition to our homeschooling. I love that each day we can work on a sheet, it gives my daughter the learning opportunity to read maps, learn direction, and more.

DK workbooks are great to use for both homeschool as well as enrichment purposes. They are fun and easy to use for both student and parent. The material is easy to understand and we love the sticker chart in the front.

These DK Workbooks are simply excellent. They have a full page of gold stickers to help keep our son motivated for each lesson. They have large lettering that is easy to read, and appropriate for a 2nd grade level. My son likes to do these on his own and at his own pace with the easy-to-follow directions for each lesson. We have purchased every DK Workbook for 1st and 2nd grade now. Highly recommended to bridge the school break over the summer. Buy them for your child, you won't regret it, and they will thank you later!These books also meet the common core state standards.

Purchased for my grandson as he loves doing these type of workbooks at home. Great for children who like to do extra work at home, or as well for children who are struggling with the subject, so can practice out of school. Great value.
