Pro-Lok Door Lock Installation Kit (INJIG-KJ)

The Killer Jig is very sturdy and easy to adjust to the door. Super easy to bore lock and latch holes with this jig. No fiddling with plastic jigs that bend and move on the doorway. The multi spur bits and auger bit included in the kit are heavy duty and should last a long time. Several latch markers are included with the set to mark the latch for chiseling. A strike locator tool is included for placing into the door latch hole to mark the center of the strike hole and latch plate. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of this kit. Even though the kit is pricy, it is well made, and will last for many years of heavy use. It helps to make quick and accurate work. Best of all, it was made in the USA!

For professionals you definitely need this kit. Everything you need is included in this and its a professional kit. A little pricey but worth the money as its going to save you time and aggravation.

Have used a pro grade jig by Kwikset in the past .... that now discontinued. Most (all?) "home center" jigs are plastic and can't hold up over time. Really like that his jig doesn't use specialty bits or bearings (like the Kwikset did). Just a solid guide system to allow common bits to accurately prep doors for cylindrical locks. Well made, I expect we will never need to replace the body, and the wear bushing inserts are replaceable. If you prep a lot of doors, this works like it should. Pro grade.

This product is a total ripoff. the real value is about $200 max. My advise is by each piece separately and you'll spent $200 at most and get better quality. I wish I could return but too late.

I loved the set up of the kit. Very pricy installation kit. I got the kit to speed up production of drilling out 40 plus doors for standard hardware prep. The only thing it produced was a mess. It was faster and cleaner to layout and drill by hand with a hole saw and speed bore with less mess.

Brilliant bit of kit very easy to set up and use. Iv been a carpenter for 15 years and it’s a lot quicker and you get a better result, worth the money if you’re doing a lot of doors its rock solid.

The adapters where a little tight for the first run but seemed to be a little excessive paint build up after the first door the 2-1/8 adapter was "broken In" it was smooth sailing. Only flaw would be no room in the case for a set of cup saws to use when a forstner bit won't due

Great jig, worth the money with out question. Have spend hundred of dollars over the years on plastic jigs, none lasted. Also no plastic jig will work on a door any thicker than 1.5 inch, nor will a plastic jig allow you drill a 1.5 inch hole for deadbolts. If you want a product that will last, accurate, et easy do the job its designed for, then this is the jig for you. The Strike Locator included in the set, is also a game charger.

The Pro-Lok killer Jig is an amazing product! Professional quality, easy to use and makes for precision drilling!

The only issue I’ve had after boring about 10-12 doors with this kit, is that the bit for latch hole is to aggressive. I’ve had two problems with it. One is that it binds in the jig really easily, especially when there are any wood chips trying to clear out through the hole. I sprayed the bit with WD40 which helps a little. The other issue that’s a bigger problem is that I’ve had it actually start to break open the door, or split the door, if you know what I mean. The auger bit is chewing out so much material that it gets jammed up in the hole that’s being drilled and starts to blow out the side skin of the door. I am going to try to find another auger bit to use instead of the one that came with it, or maybe even a hole saw that would work better. I do like that this should be possible with this kit as opposed to jig kits that have proprietary bore bits with bushings on the bit shaft. Otherwise this is a really good contractor grade door bore kit.
