I LOVE THESE LIGHTS!
I love these little lights! First I'll tell you the specs, and a quick synopsis of my thoughts for those who want the short and fast. For those who like a little more, I'll continue on. First, let's clear up the confusing parts in the tech specs. Well, they confused me before I bought mine. Some of the specs shown in the "Technical Details" section are incorrect. They don't weigh 2.2 lbs. It weighs 1.15 lbs or 32 ounces, and really doesn't even feel like a pound. It uses 110 volts, not 240. There's no doubt that it's round. It's 6 inches across and about 3 inches deep. It has a small rectangular bar on the back of the case that allows the light to sit upright, at an angle, so the 6 inch face of the light points upward at approximately a 45 degree angle. The only negative I can see, it has a special power cord you won't find anywhere else. It needs the special power cable because of the extra long connector and built in angle because of the design. The other end is a standard wall wart. The plus side, the power cable is about 6 and half feet long. The Philips site says the light is equivalent to a 12 watt bulb. I can't help but think that's a printing error because that light is bright! It's more like a 60-75 watt bulb! Negatives: unique power cable, no carry handle, it isn't waterproof or at least water resistant. If I had the chance to make changes, I would change the power cord to come out the back and accept any standard power cord of similar voltage. I would add a collapsible handle. When not in use the handle disappears inside the light case. When you go portable, you could flip the handle up to carry the light. I would make the light water resistant so it could at least handle being taken out in the rain. Other than that, this is a great little light for inside the house! It's not just a good working light, it's fun! Now for the fun stuff! I bought 2 of these to replace our bedside lamps on our nightstands. My thoughts being, it would be so much nicer to tell Amazon Echo (Alexa) what to do with them, or use my phone to change the settings. Instances such as rather than interrupting a romantic moment to dim the lights, no one wants to stop, get up or have to break the moment or hug to reach for the light. I can say, "Alexa, dim the bedroom lights 50%." Or on movie night I say "Alexa, set Movie Night in the bedroom," and the lights will dim about 90% and she says "OK." Or "Alexa, turn on tropical sunset in the bedroom." She will then change one light to a dimmed purple and the other light to a dimmed reddish orange. Or when I reach that moment of just about to fall asleep and not wanting to move too much to wake myself up, "Alexa, turn off the bedroom lights," and the room goes dark as Alexa replies "OK." Or when my wife has fallen asleep with the light on and I don't want to wake her, I can use my phone and with a simple tap of the finger, silently turn her light off without disturbing her. I have to say the most convenient and best feature of all was shown to me during a really bad thunderstorm a couple of weeks ago. There was a bad accident down the road that caused us to lose power. While everyone else around us was using flashlights and candles, we were lit up like nothing happened. Without even a flicker, the lights continued to light up the room, running off their internal battery. We could carry the light into the kitchen to make sandwiches and get ice cream. Even with the power out, we could press the button and cycle through the colors and set a romantic color for the bedroom! I don't know what "300 Luminous Flux" converts to, but at times I think it isn't as bright as I thought it would be, then I remember I have it turned away because it's too bright to face me! In my opinion, it seems to be between a 60 and a 75 watt bulb at it's brightest. It's definitely too bright to look at directly! I face mine towards the wall and let the light bounce back to light the room. Between the 2 lights we have on our nightstands, it lights up our bedroom very well when we need full light. But that's rare. More often, we just want mood lighting or TV watching lights. It's fun being able to change to literally millions of different colors either on a whim or for a holiday. I'm definitely buying more of these before Christmas so I can have red and green lights around. Next 4th of July I want red, white and blue! These lights are not only useful as lamps, but they are fun as well! Add to that the ability to control them by voice, or silently by phone, millions of colors ... I can't wait for the next sale!

High quality product
You must keep in mind this lamp is designed for indirect light. This lamp is not designed to light up a room like a regular lamp. This being said, it fulfills its purpose and its a great asset to create a nice ambiance. I use this one in my bedroom since its a smaller area, and I use the A19 philips hue and strip for my living room which is larger. Portability is a nice feature that I rarely use. I have disconnected it and taken it to the bathroom, good for relaxing in the hot tub with low light of whatever color you choose (please do not immerse the lamp in the water, thanks). As with any other philips hue product, you can use other apps to create smooth transitioning sequences or to synchronize to music you are playing. You do have a lot of fun possibilities. I don’t really use Siri that much, but I gotta say sometimes I fall asleep with my lights on and its really cool just to say “Siri, turn off the lights” without leaving my bed or without even reaching my phone. This is a high quality product, I own many philips hue product and I highly recommend them.

Best Hue light yet.
Unique lamp. This is the only portable Hue lamp and unlike the Bloom's opaque shell, this one has side illumination. Also is the only Hue light with both the rich colours of the all-in-one lamps and the bright whites of the lightbulbs replacements. And finally, is the only one that works without the bridge/Homekit/app, although these add so much to the experience. I have two of these and use them every day. The kids use them as disco lights. For movies, I put one behind the TV to match colours in movies, and another as an intermission warning. At sunset, they come on automatically and at 1% power they are a fantastic night light. In the morning they come on and slowly increase in brightness, then flash and change to a very bright white as a last warning to get up. For camping or BBQs, the flickering candlelight mode works on battery for three hours. They should come with a soft cover and the DC plug should be easier to remove. They should also be cheaper.

I bought these, along with some other Hue lights, to make my room look a little more creative and I absolutely love these lights. The GO lights are fantastic and once they go on sale again, I'm probably buying 4 or 5 more. The Hue app makes them so easy to use and customize. You can even use the app to set up scenarios and schedules. For example, I have to wake up 7:15 AM. At 7:00 AM I have the lights set to go from 0% at 7:00 AM to 100% at 7:10 AM and the change is gradual. It's a great way to help me naturally wake up in preparation to my alarm at 7:15 AM. Sometimes I wake up just from the lights and aren't jarred awake by an alarm. The color customization is fantastic and extremely accurate. The fact that these have internal batteries and can be used as lights on the go make them even better. I highly recommend!

Great light! I enjoy all the easy to use settings through the app and being able to control some features on the light itself! I enjoy the sunrise and sunset that I can time, as well as the timer for when the light will either turn on or off. Very convenient and fascinated with all the colour options! Works well with the HomeKit (Phillips hub).
