I bought this mat to place under my half rack. I don’t like horse stall mats because they outright stink of chemical odors. This Gorilla Mat has zero odor. It is thick, durable and comfortable and provides a no-slip grip. It is large and perfectly-sized for placing under squat, half or full-sized racks and other big equipment. It also looks very nice in a deep gray color. Best of all, it’s non-toxic, so I can put it inside my home gym without the negative health issues of toxicant off-gassing that come with almost every other mat on the market. It’s worth the price. I am very pleased with this Yo Gorilla exercise mat.

So far I am very happy with this mat. I'm not over active at the moment, but I'm looking to get back into my old exercise routines. Space constraints in my house have left me with the garage as my only home option. I bought this mat so I wouldn't have to be doing push-ups, crunches, etc. directly on the concrete. 6'x4' is a good size for me (I'm 5'6"). It's a solid mat, by which I mean it's not meant to be a cushion for tumbling or grappling (although I've had Jiu Jitsu partners would would prefer something this solid), but great for protecting equipment from concrete and flooring from just about everything. The bottom non-slip material is holding the mat in place on the polished concrete in my garage. Currently the top of the mat is also fairly non-slip while dry. Once enough sweat hits it, it gets a little slippery. My mat is still pretty new and the information that came with it said this would be the case. It takes some time to break in. The information sheet also gives some advice for how to break it in faster. And while we're on the topic... The sellers seem to be very engaging. Once the mat shipped I received an email with an attached pdf for care and cleaning. Similar information is included in the package the mat came in. I appreciate the added effort to help me get the most out of their product. Also included in this purchase: 1 microfiber cloth for cleaning, 2 velcro straps for keeping the mat rolled up, and 1 slip case for protecting the rolled up mat. The only thing I would love to have is a carrying strap or handle on the slip case. It's super minor and I don't count it as a negative. So far, I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought Gorilla Mats late last year because I was looking for good quality mats for my home gym. I have been working out to P90X, RUSHFIT and Body Beast at home for years . I also have a full pull-up & dip station in my livingroom. In a nutshell, I was looking for a mat that is tough, build to last and provide enough support to protect my joints and floors. I'm glad to report that It's one of the best investments I've made for my home gym (right up there with my Powerblocks U90). You can tell that Gorilla Mats are made of quality materials the moment you lay it on the floor. The weight of the mat and patterns on the bottom-side does a decent job at helping the mat stay in place during exercises. They're thick, durable and most importantly, I feel safe jumping on the mats when I do plyometric exercises! I also love the Gorilla logo on the mat (See picture). I also want to give a shout out to Zach at Gorilla Mats. He was great at answering my questions. The PDF he sends out with FAQs about the mats is also a nice touch. This mat along with a few other brands sat in my cart for MONTHS. I read review after review after review. I finally settled on gorilla mats for 2 reasons 1. If it gets messed up they replace it! Say whaaaat?! Yep if you’re gonna spend $140 thAt is Totally a reason to purchase from this company. 2. They are a small family owned business. That’s very important in these days of big box stores taking over our landscape. I purchased an $80 mat from lululemon that’s total junk and no where near the size of this one. It’s probably 1/4 the size of this one. Is it slippery? Yes , but it says after use that will fade. Much like every other yoga mat I’ve purchased. If I’m doing any yoga poses or push ups or something I just place a yoga mat down for my hands.It is a sturdy thick mat I use it over carpet An it moves a little but I do tons of hiit work outs with lots of jumping around. I just place a 10 lb weight on 2 of the 4 sides and it stays in place perfectly. It comes with 2 straps so you can roll it up and out of the way. Oh yeah the best part, it lays flat from the 1st time you unroll it. That was a huge sell for me. My lululemon mat does not, and that is a total trip hazard. This size was perfect for doing broad jumps, burpees, lateral jumps, jump rope. Basically any exercise. For reference I’m 5‘4“ and 117 pounds. Support small businesses!!

Love the size of this mat. I only wish it were a few mils thicker. It's still good for shock absorption. I use it on a wood floor and I can do situps and yoga without pain. Comes with a drawstring bag and a workout towel. Overall im pretty happy with it so far. I'll see how it holds up over time.

I was looking for a larger mat for my workouts, and I ran across this brand on Amazon. The price was higher than what I was looking to spend, but purchased it due to the positive reviews. It hasn't disappointed me! It's of high-quality construction, durable (you can use it with shoes on), and is just the right size for my workouts. As others have mentioned, there is a slight odor when you first unbox it. I didn't find it unbearable, however, and the smell completely dissipated within a couple of days. I'm completely satisfied & pleased with this product.

I was very impressed with how well this item is packaged. You can tell that they take pride in their product. So great to have 2 straps, bag with tie, and a nice size microfiber cloth to come with it. I chose the gray color and I like how it's a nice darker gray. I did my Insanity Max 30 workout on it today and it worked like a charm. It gave the extra comfort that I need so my joints/knees don't get jarred. It did move a little bit on the carpet, and I had to adjust the mat a couple times, but that's totally expected with all the jumps, burpees, push ups, and craziness that the Insanity workout is lol :) It does have a really cool textured bottom on the mat that does a good job of gripping the floor. The mat size 6' X 4' worked great for me. I'm only 5'2". I think though if you are closer to 6 feet in height definitely go for the 7 ft mat instead, especially if you plan on doing push ups or planks on this mat. It's better to go a little bigger I'm thinking. The quality of the mat is definitely 2 thumbs up. I'm not scared to let my dog run around on it like other mats that can tear with her claws. Looking forward to using this mat for years to come. :)

I've had this mat for 2 years and have used it almost daily. I freaking love it! I used to work out on those jigsaw piece mats that you can get everywhere. They are fine for the price, but they slide all over and sometimes come apart with certain movements. This mat, however, is great! I got the 4x6. It’s perfect for the bedroom space I'm using it in. If I had a bigger space, I'd definitely get a larger one. I sweat a lot on this thing and it's good about never really letting the sweat soak in, so I use the included microfiber towel to wipe it. It's been great for a variety of workouts including yoga even though it's not as squishy as some yoga mats. There are only 3 cons that I've experienced with this mat, and they're conditional: 1- Depending on the type of shoes you wear, you may have trouble with movements that require you to pivot because your foot doesn't slide on this. 2- My bedroom has this crappy old carpet, so the mat does move on it after a bit of doing certain things on it. 3- The straps eventually came apart after about a year of daily use, but I replaced them with some others I bought on Amazon and they've been great. Overall I'm super pleased with this purchase and would absolutely buy from this company again.
