This battery seems to have a low self-discharge over time (after full charge). Without doing an actual discharge test under load, the perception is it provides good power for the camera during extended use when compared to other batteries.

Not as heavy as the sony battery, but seems to perform well. I have used for almost a month intermittently, alternating with the sony battery. Probably have charged/partially discharged about 5 cycles so far - have only run it down as low as 40%, but got about 160 photos and a little video on the 60% used. Also noting that it does not discharge while sitting for a period of up to a week - still registers 100%. Read claims with some other batteries, users complained of discharge while just sitting for a few days. Could be they are leaving in the charger. Noticed that even with the sony battery, if I leave in charger, unplugged for a few days, it will discharge, but not if removed from the charger contacts.I will only update this review if there is a performance issue in the next year - figure if I get a year or more, I've gotten my money's worth at this price.

Hold charge and works perfectly. This battery didn't work with the OEM charger but it did work with the after market charger.

Ive been using 3rd party replacement batteries for 15 years, not sure why anyone would pay twice the price for the brand names. The DSTE replaced a Sony battery, and lasts twice as long in the camera. There are a few different choices in 3rd party camera batteries - this one seems to be as good as the rest. I bought a second one as a spare after I received and used the first one.

Weirdly I find these batteries way better than my Ravpower batteries. Pretty close to oem performance.

Those batteries were said to have nearly the double capacity (1,950 mAH) than the originals of SONY (1,050 mAH).In fact it was not possible to get them fully loaded; I only made it maximum to 93%. And when in use they lost their capacity very fast.I hope the return process works.Edit 2/17/2021: Return did not work: I was waiting until the last day of our stay in Florida for the FedEx guy who never showed up to pick the items up. Bad experience. :-(

Great battery for the price, works well would by again!

I bought this battery about one year and used it only 4 times when I was on vacations. At the first 3 times, the battery seemed to be able to be charged to 100%. On my last trip, it was only able to be charged 65% and lost the charge very quickly. Now it can only charged to 22%. The battery has 1950mAH rating but the rating is over-rated. My Sony 7-year-old original battery has 1020mAH but it lasts much longer and holds charge much better than DSTE battery. After going through two aftermarket batteries, I would recommend buying the Sony one instead.
