Incredible Setup! Read before you pass on this!
I/we have zero experience with doing tattoos, I have several as does my brother but neither of us ever touched a tattoo machine. Well out of nowhere I decided this seemed like a great idea! Our wives disagreed but that didn't stop us! This setup along with approximately 4 minutes of extensive training via YouTube we were ready to go. Now as I stated no experience with tattooing and even less talented in art, we were ready to put needle to skin! It is easy to use and worked incredibly well! I found that if someone draws something on me I can trace it/follow the lines pretty good! I can freehand tattoo stick figures like a champ! By the way, it is my new favorite tattoo! Now on to the important stuff. The only part of description I thought seemed bad was the pedal. I thought about ordering a better pedal along with the kit but decided to wait in case I was totally horrible at tattoos but to my surprise the upgraded pedal is now included in the kit! As a matter of fact most everything that people complained about in reviews was upgraded! This seller should really take a moment to update the photos and descriptions. Another item was the power supply, it looks better than the one pictured! Another thing I held off on buying was some expensive inks. People complained that it didn't work at all or was faint or didn't do anything correctly at all, if this is the problem, chances are you have your machine set up wrong! This ink worked great on our tattoos. Very bright and colorful. I hope to God it fades and disappears as we did end up with some questionable stuff! Not all was bad though! Seriously though watch videos and read up up while you wait for your delivery! You will see that most bad reviews about this setup are all user error! When you break it all down, tattoo machines are a simple machine and there isn't much to go wrong. You can't just throw on a tube and a needle and go. If you set it up wrong you will end up with a prison tattoo that was done with a staple and a burnt plastic checkers piece. If your not going to follow the directions and learn before you start, just sharpen up a staple and go crazy. Keep everything sterile and don't reuse anything, replacement needles etc. Are cheaper than an infection! The art is forever, unless you get an infection and lose an arm or something! Remember that this is a real tattoo machine and the tattoo is forever! Also if it seems to painful, it may be the placement! Some parts of your body hurt way more than others! Another thing I have recently found out is that some very talented artists can't tattoo to save their life and then you got people who have no artistic talent but can tattoo with a stencil/flash incredibly well! Use the practice skin or bananas work great before you go for that face tattoo you've been wanting! Or put it where the sun don't shine? Remember I am not a professional. I am not even an amateur. I am not even qualified enough to sweep the floor of a tattoo studio, but after reading some reviews and hearing some other stories, maybe some of this review may help someone! This is way cheaper than going to a professional shop, it may not be as good but you just keep practicing and you will get better! Don't quit and it will pay for itself in one use guaranteed!

Great beginner artist set
This is actually a great buy. If you are a beginner this has everything you need to get started. I have seen many reviews calling it, basically, a piece of crap. Or talking about how it didn't work when they got it. It isn't and probably did work. The thing is you must properly set it up and then calibrate the machine. Worry not, their are plenty of videos on these subjects to help get you started. As I said, this comes with everything you need to get started, everything. It isn't the absolute best of everything on the market, but if that is what you are looking for expect to pay thousands. I was very happy with the machine and the power supply. The needles, bands, and caps are all standard. The cups are standard disposable ones, you can upgrade later to stainless ones, if you are prepared to shell out the cash for sterilization, otherwise, stick to disposable. The only two places where any of these supplies falls a little short would be, 1. The transfer paper. It isn't the best but it does work. 2. The inks. Once again they do work, and their are lots of videos of people using them to great effect. My suggestion would be to order a larger bottle of a good black, you'll probably be using a lot more of that. Other than that it's definitely a good deal. The power supply can get a little jumpy but you can get it dialed in. The machines, one liner and one shader, are easily assembled and, once you get them tuned up, buzz like champs. Definitely recommend for the beginner artist. Remember, you can always upgrade if you need or want too, but you can't if you don't start somewhere, and this is a great starter pack.

Not a fan of the ink
I received my package with everything included in the picture. I followed the inbox assembly instructions along with the YouTube video. I have no previous tattoo experience other than receiving them. That being said, I now list my complaints. The stencil paper did not transfer but i anticipated that and had purchased other stencil paper already. The ink included is watery; particularly the black. I wasn't extremely worried about that as I can go back in over it once it heals but my REAL issue is that after i implicitly followed all given directions to set up and tune my machine...... IT STARTED CUTTING OFF. Mind you, this started not even an hour into me doing the tattoo. I'm resilient so I would allow it to cool down a bit and then I would go back in. That is the part that really has me angry about this purchase. I had it properly tuned at 7.5 then it started shorting but worked again if I increased the power. I went to 8.5, worked for about 15 minutes. I went to 9, it worked for about 20 minutes and then started shorting again. I may be just beginning but I've spent weeks doing research and determining the best way to go about this learning process and the machine not working as intended shouldn't be a part of the process. My advice: if you buy this, get a better brand of ink and make sure that you have stencil paper. If you can avoid it though, you should purchase a more expensive and better quality machine. Also: I am open to a return and refund. You can deduct the one lining needle I used from the total. Lol Edit: So, I purchased better ink and had no issues on it shorting after a few tweaks. I've completed my tat and added pics. I may return after it's healed with new pics. It's my first ever tat I've done so please don't judge me too harshly. Lol

Poor quality
Power supply is junk. Lasted 15 minutes and just quit working. Machines are ok. Edit the company did replace the power supply and machine runs ok. I did get a better power supply and am currently running that one and saving the replaced one as a backup.

I am an artiste!
I'm a big DIY-er and kinda artistic, so when my tattoo appointment was cancelled due to pandemic, I decided to do my thigh pieces myself! I chose this kit based on the reviews, so I knew to do a lot of research on all the included pieces and what to do to get set up -- I didn't receive a DVD or anything, but there are lots of videos on their Youtube channel and tons of sources on the web. SURPRISE BONUS: I received a second kit about a week after the first kit; not sure why, but thanks Amazon order bug! I've had the original kit for about 3 weeks now, and after practicing on the fake skin and some old grapefruits, I've done 4 blackline tattoos on myself (so far!) - here are my thoughts: -the included inks are nice, they're smooth and thin. the bottles have two caps!! they're probably not dried up, I promise. grab a pair of scissors and pry off the rubber stopper to get to the ink. there was enough black ink included for 3 tattoos (I threw away a lot of excess ink in the cup for germ reasons), so I had to open the surprise bonus kit for more ink for #4. the bottles are tiny, so I'll need some more black liner ink soon. -the power supply does lose some oomph over time, but i've found adjusting the contact screw and upping the voltage in small increments fixes the issue. I haven't tattooed myself or practiced for longer than an hour or so yet, so idk about longer sessions -everything seems pretty sanitary? items are sealed properly, and no issues with healing so far. I use antibiotic ointment for the first few days of healing before switching to Aquaphor just in case. -the kit doesn't include some important supplies you'll need for your skin/practice skin - stencil transfer goo/gel deodorant, rubbing alcohol, green soap, vaseline. -the kit only includes 1 sheet of stencil transfer paper, so i needed to order more right away because I struggled to get the right amount of gel deodorant for the transfer and had to redo the stencils a few times. Overall, this is definitely a beginner setup, but it has everything you need to get started if you're willing to do some research and learn yourself! Please please please take a look at some beginner tattoo videos to learn about needle depth, needle types, voltage, using stencil transfer paper, and tuning the guns. I'll be upgrading my equipment before tattooing anyone besides myself and my roommates after pandemic, but I'm super satisfied with this kit and excited about my new hobby!

DO NOT LISTEN TO "ELITIST" ARTIST
This is a good kit for the money. Many would have you believe that this is some sort of garbage kit compared to the "real artist" overpriced, modified doorbell. And that's all any tattoo machine is at its heart, a doorbell. I have found that a TRUE artist will get amazing results with whatever you put in front of them. Don't believe me? look up prison tats, especially Russian ones. They will blow your mind, and they were all done with nothing more than scrap tools and a desire to create something amazing. Then some give the argument that " uneducated, non qualified persons who buy this kit will spread disease and produce terrible work and bla bla bla..." well guess what Bruno, they would have still sucked with all "professional" equipment. No amount of money spent will EVER buy you the talent and patience involved in creating something unique. It just gets under my skin how some people act high and mighty when it comes to tats. Some of the greatest work ever done did not involve a machine at all, IDK, seems funny how some "artist" dis these entry level machines but are the same types that use pre made stencils and would be up the creek going freehand. I have been producing ORIGINAL works of art for 30 plus years now and trust me, I have seen great work come from nothing and terrible work come from "pros". ( and trust me, some of these so called pros cant draw worth a lick and would be lost without tracing and stencils. Not all but some for sure.) I think some of these "artist" have the Apple syndrome. You know, unless you spend crazy money for off the shelf, stock parts, you have garbage. lol The only thing i can complain about with this kit is the ink. So, in short, if you are a true artist, get this kit. Just use your head and don't listen to some of these elitist. give me a guitar string a toothbush a bic pen and a DC motor and tape and i will make you a machine that produces some mighty fine tats, GUARANTEED!!!!!!!!!

MACHINES AND PEDAL ARE NOT WHAT'S PICTURED! Low quality. Avoid!
First things first and what matters the most. THE MACHINES AND FOOT PEDAL YOU RECIEVE ARE NOT THE ONES IN ANY OF THE PICTURES!!! Seems like this has been an issue for a long time based off previous reviews. I'm guessing no one is concerned with this? The seller claims the frame is identical in performance but i disagree fully. Frame resonances will not be identical at all. Affecting overall use if you compared the two in real working environments. I wanted the thin pedal so i could use it as an arm activator instead of a foot pedal... I'm not a beginner and I'm still far from a pro but these machines were very inconsistent with line depth and RPM. I assume due to the cheap components. I found myself having to adjust the contact screw far more than I've seen any quality machine being done... You can hear the contact's arcs change sound due to tarnishing between the contacts. Resulting in not as much OOMPH when driving the needle. I returned mine after a few uses. I tried to give this machine a fair go but after letting a skilled artist use it, he handed it back to me in less time than it took to rig together... Told me he wouldn't even recommend it to a beginner as it would give bad results and likely discourage anyone from trying further. He recommended upgrading a few components on it to get me the quality i was after, but would cost almost as much as purchasing a better pair of machines. The kit came with everything needed to start packing ink. It's just low quality and absolutely not what's pictured in the listing.
