Frommer's EasyGuide to Hawaii 2014 (Easy Guides) Paperback – November 12, 2013

Good reviews, analysis of locations, and recommendations.Could be improved to align star system with hotel star system... seems like everything is either 1 or 2 stars as compared to hotels, for example, that are 1-5 stars.Also, the maps that are provided in the book should be color. There are some nice maps in the back of the book to pull out for trips. This is essentially a black and white book, no photos. I also purchased Fodors guide which is a bit larger but the detial provided in Fodors is superior... good reviews, pictures, information about agents, restaurants, etc. Recommend Fodors.

We used this book to plan 10 days in Hawaii. It was very helpful. One of the restaurants it recommended was closed. There is no "Fat Greek". However, we found "Goofy's" in it's place and "Goofy's" uses organic and locally grown products as much as is possible. We were happy the book led us to that address.The book had a section of Eco Tour providers. That helped us find some things we would have overlooked.This book was well worth the money.

This book was suggested by several different people and has proved helpful. By giving web sites and telephone numbers, I have been to check to see if the information listed is still current.

Book itself is good..... Shortened but good. But I was disappointed with the map. Frommers maps are usually heavy duty and glossy and more detailed and I use them all the time for my trips. This map is papery and not detailed enough.

Not all that helpful to me. Not enough detail, but then covering all of Hawaii in this size of book. So if you are looking for an overview but not much detail, this is a good book for you. If you want more detail, look elsewhere.

Very handy guide to the Islands. Like new condition

In one book, you have al you nee to plan your vacation to Hawaii.Perfect. We took it with us, write notes on the book, and took it home.I hope to make another trip. Truly Aloha.

I have purchased previous guides and found the format in this year's guide very skimpy and not informative. They seemed to be just going through the motions and added nothing.

I was surprised and frankly disappointed to find that the copy I received had obvious substandard indicators: the hugely useful extendable map that you often find in travel books was misfolded, uncut and completely inaccessible. The island overview map [inside front cover] was overprinted with a map of Manhattan subways! I know these are two minor gripes, but the Lonely Planet book that my husband bought was perfect!!!!

Interesting read. Will be taking it on holiday with me next year. Good compact size and not too heavy for the suitcase.
