Perfect product, but way over priced!
First, let me just say that the AudioEngine A2s make my iMac come alive! They are about 3 times louder and 10 times sweeter! And they have real base! That said, I had read that for a better near-field sound, the tweeters on these speakers should be angled up towards where your ears are. These stands are the perfect size, and angle up correctly by about 15 degrees. They isolate the speakers from my desktop, and look very sharp. HOWEVER: these stands are just mass produced rubbery plastiky thingies. Probably cost all as much as 0.64 cents each to produce and should have come bundled together with the speakers new. At a $9.00 price, you might think these were a bit overpriced. At the actual retail price of $29.00, you most likely could be thinking that you really got ripped off. EXCEPT...these things are so perfect for the job that they do! Bottom line: great product, does what it is supposed to do, and well. But they are about $20 overpriced. I will still be keeping mine, though.

works perfect with A1
I just bought this with A1 speaker and works great. nice desktop speaker. the angle helps to direct the speaker directly to ear which sounds clear in higher tones (like voice etc). also the silicone rubber material seems to absorb unwanted vibrations from the speakers. perfect pair with A1.

Good fit for Audioengine A1, light and pricey
The stand works great for my Audioengine A1. It is very light and almost feels like the speaker would be too heavy for it and tip over, but it doesn't. It's not made of the same material as the speakers, but something that is a bit softer and I'm guessing helps absorb vibrations. Works well, but pretty pricey at the same time for what it is.

Elevated my KEF LSX II LT to the right height for my desktop listening.
Great for the price. Lack of adjustability means you should definitely measure before you purchase. Also are not isolating so adding a thin layer of felt or foam to the bottom of your speakers helps nicely.

The difference is huge...
I have been using the Audioengine 2 desktop/computer speakers for years; I have two pair for different computer setups. Somehow I overlooked these stands until today - a huge mistake. As an audiophile (my primary audio system is 5 figures, so yes sound quality is a critical part of my enjoyment of music), I assure you this is a required upgrade if you want the most from these incredibly accurate, detailed speakers with very good bass for their size. What is different? The detail of the highs and mids comes into focus and are much more clear, the bass is more accurate; in short the music becomes more involving and enjoyable. For $30 it's a a no-brainer if you want the most out of the Audioengine 2 speakers. Highly recommended! FOLLOW-UP: Audiophile Update I decided to order the new version of the stands also to do a comparison of sound quality (A-B-A) between the two (like I said I am an audiophile). I completed this today, skeptical I would hear that big a difference - I was very wrong. Listing to a FLAC CD quality feed with my favorite music service it was immediately clear the new version of the stands (DS1M) are clearly an upgrade from the originals. Overall, the music “breathes” - there is more detail and clarity to the mids/highs and more pace and energy to the music (less sluggish and bloated). I am exchanging the originals for the new ones, at only $10 more than the original version it’s a no brainer for me (and anyone with a critical ear for music quality).

These DO make a difference in what you hear from the Audioengine A2 (or other small speakers)
I have the Audioengine A2 Desktop Speakers placed to each side of my computer monitor and used them for quite a long time before coming to the realization that if I simply aligned the speakers so that they were angled up towards my ears, then I would get a real improvement in the quality and imaging of the sound (particularly high frequency). I was very satisfied with the sound of the speakers even before adding these, but now I'm kicking myself for not getting the stands in the beginning. They make a significant difference, and regardless of whether or not you think that the price is reasonable for what is essentially two pieces of molded rubber, they do the job perfectly. I'm sure you can accomplish the same thing by building your own stands, but what the heck, I took the easy route and bought these to save the trouble and with confidence that they would fit the speakers properly and do the job well. These stands are made for the A2 speakers but can be used for other similarly sized speakers. For the A2's, they fit perfectly and provide both isolation from the desktop, and alignment. They do exactly what I purchased them for, no complaints.

Excellent Companion for the A2+
I don't usually bother to write reviews although I certainly read before I buy. But I wanted to respond to a couple of other reviews I read on these little speaker stands. I bought a couple of A2+ speakers and ordered the stands as well. But the speakers arrived first, so I had a couple of days to evaluate them without the stands. The speakers are excellent, very clear; but as others have remarked with only moderately strong bass. These little stands not only tilt the speakers up at the proper listening angle, the cavity that the speakers sit in also creates a reverberant field which amplifies the bass. Without introducing distortion, the cradles immediately improved the bass response and amplified the overall sound. I found myself reducing the volume slightly and still experiencing more total sound. I believe some R&D went into both the material, and the dimensions and shape of the cavity, to produce the desired audio response. I am very impressed with Audioengine's products. By all means buy a doorstop if you like, but you will miss out on part of the purpose of these stands.
