It was rolled, not folded. Very pleased with it.

Can it be hung on a hook?

I've never hung it up and it doesn't have a hole to hang it on a hook. You could make a hole yourself if you wanted to hang it up.

What is the little bit sticking out on the side for?

You position the mat so this hangs over your sink...its where the water drains too.

Hi, is it heat resistant to put pans from hub and owen?

Yes I’ve certainly used it for hot items. It’sa good buy! But to be sure, I’d contact Brabantia themselves - they are very helpful.
