Outstanding product that’s everything it needs to be. The smaller bin is perfect for a home coffee enthusiast and by the time it’s filled up you’d want to have emptied the old grounds anyways to avoid moldy pucks. Smooth Plastic material cleans easily with hot water. Very stable on the countertop.

Works perfectly and it is plenty large enough to hold 10 or more 54mm pucks. It is nice and stable on the counter. Does not slide around. The pucks come out very easily. I do not understand some of the reviewers saying that it is splashing on their counters. If the puck is that soft then you are not getting the grounds compressed in the basket correctly. I purchased the larger version based on some of the reviews saying that it was to small. It is more than big enough and I almost wish that I had purchased the smaller one just to save some space. Though I am more than happy with this purchase. The non removable bar is not an issue. I can reach in with a spoon to crunch up the pucks before distributing them to my garden and washing it is really easy.

Our older son and daughter-in-law gave me a Breville Barista Express espresso machine for Father's Day 2012. One thing required for this operation is a knock-box for extracting the compressed coffee-grounds puck from the portafilter after shots have been drawn. We have a small bar area in a short hallway leading from the front entryway to the family room. It has a small sink and beside it an area only about two inches wider on each side than the espresso machine. It makes a nice and convenient area for the new machine and the bar had never been used for anything but a catch-all for stuff in hand when entering from the garage during 17 years we have lived here. I looked at the Breville knock-box which has a classy appearance but it is way-too-big for our tiny area. We ordered this Dreamfarm Grindenstein 4 inch knock-box in silver gray color from Amazon. It fits the area, does the job and cleans up nicely. My original concern was that it might be too small in diameter to accept "knocking" without splattering coffee grounds all over the place. That's not a problem considering the size of the Breville portafilter. Although our usual evening routine is two lattes for the two of us, I feel confident that it would handle a half-dozen or more pucks for a larger crowd with no problem. All-in-all a really good and inexpensive purchase.

This is nice and small compared to some of the other products. Note: It is plastic. No, it is not some designer kitchen gadget. (My espresso machine is though.) But this is great in form and function. It keeps the grinds out of the sink. Empty when you want, recycle the grinds if you want. You can even put it in the dishwasher, if you want. Cheap, easy, well made. I'd buy another if this one got... I don't know? I can't imagine it breaking! ------------- Update ----------------- I have had this for a few months now and use it with every cup I brew. I know that it is smaller than the others out there. I can't imagine needing anything bigger. Maybe if I were someone that wanted to store up used coffee for the garden etc, but that's not me. I dump this out about once a week and throw it in the dishwasher. Anything larger would take away counter space.

I recently bought this one instead of a more plain steel knock box and I really like it. The color and quality of materials seems just right to me. It's bottom has rubber so it won't slide and the knock bar is good rubber. Size is definitely on the smaller side but I knew that (probably 3-4 cakes before empty). Their thinking is that it will fit under the group head for compact stow away. I can't quite fit it under my Gaggia Classic with the portafilter on there, but that doesn't matter to me - it looks very stylish standing next to my machine. My only gripe (didn't want to take a star off for that since I like it so much) is that the knock bar is completely center in the box. This means that you can't knock out the whole puck either in the front or back but it will be split in two (or make a mess on your counter). Other than that I would pick this any day for the stylish design and compact size.

I love the style and shape but it’s too small. When you knock out the portafilter grounds end up popping out on the counter and wall. With 3 people drinking coffee you have to empty it after every round. Might be good for a single user

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Nice knock box. Small enough to sit on the table next to the coffee maker. Padded knock rod to not damage the portafilter. Easy to clean.

Parfait, cela permet de retirer le mar de café. Ce modèle de grande taille reste quand même très mobile il ce loge parfaitement sur le dessus de ma machine à café , il a une contenance appréciable , je le vide sur le composte c'est un très bon engrais.

It is sturdy, well-finished in a lovely red, and holds enough pucks for about six coffees. It's nice and small and looks good next to the coffee machine.
