Tarot. The Library of Esoterica

This is a beautiful book, both the outer binding and the huge amount of illustrations within. I’ve only received this book today but it promises many hours of happy reading and also studying the hundreds of illustrations of Tarot cards from many centuries. It begins with a brief timescale of the development of Tarot and the card packs dating back to 1370 and it then gives the symbology and attributes of each card with several pages of different examples of each. Then there is a fuller history of Tarot with many additional chapters of different aspects of Tarot. There’s so much more that I could say about this book but I have a feeling it’s going to be my most loved book on the subject and I’m going back to it now.

This is one of the most beautiful books I own. The quality images, printing and paper scream luxury. I haven’t read it yet but look forward to turning each page. Absolute beauty.

Taschen never fail,the quality of their books is amazing,I saved to purchase this book "tarot" part of their library of esoterica series,much to my delight when I went to order it,I was lucky enough to find a warehouse deal and got it nearly half price,the book is superb it covers the history of the tarot,and is packed full of beautiful illustrations so is not only very interesting it is just a joy to look at,I have quite a large collection of books on the occult,but nothing comes close to this on the history of the tarot,if you are interested in the tarot and it's history,l would wholehearted recommend this book,even at full price for what it contains it is well worth the pennies,you will not be disappointed in any way shape or form,it really is stunning,treat yourself to this book,you will be so pleased that you did. Exception. Probably my favourite book in the library of Esoterica (and they are all good). Really well constructed and focussed. A good balance in focus between the Major Arcana which the bulk of the book focuses on, and the Minor Arcana, addressed with good detail too. The artwork is amazing and the diversity of tarot decks explore is awe inspiring. Great value for money. A beautifully rendered book.

I didn’t expect this book to be that big for the price. The quality is beyond my expectations, it’s interesting to see how the different ways the cards have been depicted over the centuries. Such an interesting book, it’s perfect for a coffee table book to engage conversations with friends curious about the Tarot as a whole. So glad I bought it.

This book is informative and contains beautiful examples of each card. Good investment for any avid reader or collectors.

Beautifully designed and well written. Looking at Tarot's global history. Excellent colour reproductions. Might appear basic for those well versed in Tarot but even so an excellent book to add to the collection for it's wonderful layout and image selection.

This is the second book I have bought and I absolutely love them. The first one was Astrology and they are both sitting on my coffee table. The quality of these books are amazing, I love to pick them up every now and then and look at all the wonderful illustrations. I’m going to treat myself and buy one each month so I eventually have the whole set. 😊
