Easy to use and great color for dark hair

I have pretty long and thick hair so I always have to buy 2 or 3 packs of hair dye to cover it entirely. But this bottle was enough for ALL my hair and I even had some left over! However, this is a temporary hair dye so don't be surprised when your towels, pillow, and shower turn purple. The longer you dying your hair with it, the longer it will stay. Since I have a lot of hair, it took me at least 15 minutes to cover it with the hair dye. I left the dye on my hair for 1 hr after i finished. As a result, the hair strands I dyed first have retained a very rich color for 3 months, regardless of the amount of washes. On the contrary, the hair roots that I dyed last had lost color after just 2 washes. Anyways, I love the look despite the flaws. P. S. The picture is taken after 3 washes.

I ordered this for my granddaughter, this is her favorite brand of hair dye and it seems to last longer than the other brands. Nice color and easy to use!

I do be hearing a lot of hate on splat but its the only one that will actually go and stay on my hair. It takes a while for it to fade and even when it does it turns into a pretty color. Splat hasnt damaged my hair any more than other hair dyes have. Honestly shes my ride or die. It has stained my tubb but it comes off easily.

I've been using Splat for more than 15 years, but the last 3 times I've purchased the same color I've been using for over a decade, the dye gets gummy, and almost gritty when applying, and then the faulty dye will only take for two or three weeks at best. First I thought it was a fluke, so I purchased another box, same problem, so the third I purchased elsewhere incase there was something wrong with the batch. It had a different manufacturer date. And this time I also bleached my hair first since it is darker, just in case (again, I've been using midnight amethyst for quite some time on my brown hair with no issues and the color held true for several months). My purple was gone with in 3 weeks tops to a pinkish red. It seems like it's time to move on to a new brand.
