How I did it
So, I wish there were maybe some more guidance on Hemway's website on picking the right glitter, but it's kind of hard to photograph, so I'll tell you what I did and how it ended up and what I'd do differently. 1. I didn't mix it with paint, I mixed it with glaze. I originally was going to use Rustoleum glitter glaze on top of a colored paint, and the paint I already bought had primer in it. I'm not sure it'd show up if I didn't use the glaze. 2. I got the ultra fine mother of pearl to go over a mid-tone pink paint. It looks nice, but it's definitely not dramatic. If there's not light shining directly on the wall, you do not notice the glitter at all. It also tends to show up more green than I'd have preferred. If I had loads of time and money, I'd have done some samples with different glitter colors and sizes and probably used a larger size or I'd have matched the paint color with the glitter color, or maybe have gone with the silver, IDK. If you can, I'd maybe get a few different packs and test them out on a board with the color you want and check it out under the light of the room you're painting. 3. I would use more glitter than recommended. I ended up having to do quite a few coats to get a decent coverage of glitter. In my second can of glaze, I added more glitter than the directions recommended and I was much happier. 4. Don't forget to mix well! If you think it's mixed, give it a few more stirs. 5. I used a small roller and rolled it in V-patterns, blending it in small sections. This got much better results than when my husband tried to roll silver Rustoleum glitter glaze in an up and down pattern (total disaster; also wasn't mixed well enough). All in all, I'm fine with the results, it's a good product, but it would be nice if the company could show some realistic photos of what their glitter looks like against different colors or with a glaze vs in a paint or just offer more design guidance. The other customer photos are great, but I think it caused me to be a bit more subtle than was really my goal since it's hard to judge when there's not a standard baseline.

Sparkle sparkle!
I mixed about half the bag in a quart of clear, high gloss, oil based polyurethane on freshly sanded redwood and it’s amazing. For those using this in actual paint, multiple coats and light sand with a very very high grit sand paper (or old towel) and use low pressure. If you want an insane amount of sparkle, always get the iridescent, then basically turn your paint/lacquer into glitter sludge. Easy to sand down and remove if the sparkle starts affecting traffic.

Add A little sparkle!
I did my own stained concrete floors for my glam room. I mixed with the seal, rather than paint. Hard to get a good photo and there’s a glare in the video, but I love how it turned out. There are little pinkish/purplish permanent glares in the floor from where I wanted more glitter, so I sprinkled it on top of floor seal, then spread it. This kind of “smeared” the glitter almost changing my floor stain color. From then, I stuck with mixing glitter in the seal, lesson learned! Nothing fixed those little spots. They aren’t a big deal, but I’m very anal about the details so it was upsetting. You may be able to see in the corners of the photo. I used about 2 packs.

When done correctly, freaking epic!!!
This stuff is AMAZING!!! I mixed 1 packet in 2/3 gallon of magical Tardis blue for my bathroom. It painted on ok, showing a little glitter. I was a little sad. I then took a scotch pad to it the next day and BAM! Freaking glitter. The video doesn’t do it justice. And there is no texture with the glitter, so future coverup wouldn’t be a problem. Although I don’t know why anyone would cover it up, it’s absolutely beautiful.

Very pretty but messy
I used this mixed with paint and Mod Podge for my walls and doorframes. I got silver and gold/silver hologram. TBH the silver already looks almost like the hologram, and the hologram is really intense. That said, it has the potential to look like dirt if there is no direct light shining on it. For white paint, I will probably buy white opalescent next time as I believe the glitter itself is clear. Anything else is probably best suited for small projects, and like others have said, the effect is very subtle, and I ended up having to mix with Mod Podge gloss and layer over the paint for extra shine and effect.

Best glitter to use outdoors.
Used this on my front walkway . Mixed half into paint Painted black then sprinkled more glitter on top lightly. And after drying n rain. You can see the walkway glitter wen lights n sun shines on it. Beautiful to see and walk threw. . Doest rub off wen walk on either.

Do not waste time or money
Product makes paint thick, almost rough to touch. Unless you buy their expensive buffer pads, it’s impossible to see the glitter. I bought two of the pads and they did a 2ftx2ft space. Off brand does not work. Super disappointed in the product. I’m buying clear iridescent rustoleum next to try painting over it.

Pretty but use chunky glitter for walls
I added 2 bags of ultrafine gold/silver holographic glitter to half a galon of flat SW Impatients Petal to a concrete wall. Results: can’t see the sparkle unless the room is dark and there is a faint light from a far or direct light with flashlight. I bought the chunky to see the difference. I haven’t use it but seems a better size. Recommendation: paint the wall first and then add the glitter to paint. Once mixed, use a brush! Otherwise will look like a dirty wall when used with a roller (see pic) you’ll see the roller traces. We re-painted the wall with the remaining of the original paint and the traces are gone. Once dryed, I buffed the wall a bit and now we can see a bit of sparkle but at least no roller traces. Added 2 pictures of how it looks with my phone’s camera, one with the flash ON and one OFF. You can see the sparkle with the flash ON but almost no sparkle without the flash ( that is how it actually looks). I will try the process with the chunky glitter to see the difference. I added a video of how it looks whith the camera’s flash ON. I only wish it can be seeing without it... I gave it 3 stars because is easy to mix, glitter tone is pretty and it doesn’t fall off. hope this helps :)
