Clay in Motion Large Mug (Raging Rapid)

This cup is fabulous! It is my new favorite mug for hot and cold liquids. I love unique mugs that hold a lot of liquid and this one is perfect. It holds about 24oz, if filled to the very brim. It is microwaveable. The handle is nice and large and easy to hold. The cup isn’t heavy considering it’s size, but is the perfect blend of being solidly made and substantial in weight. The color and design is another great quality. It makes me smile when I see it — I’m not even kidding. My daughter says it reminds her of the ocean as it reaches the shore. Clay in Motion has wonderfully skilled artists, they use quality materials, and they have a great vision of color usage that delight the eyes. Thank you for this special earthly blessing!

The Midnight Prairie version is a stunner of a visual piece. I was immediately happy when I had it sitting next to me at my desk in the morning, filled with Joe. But functionally, it is also a very solid piece of kit! The handle is comfortable, holds a ton of liquid, the lip is fluted which makes it easier to drink from - I could not be happier with this mug!

I love, love, love this cup! It actually looks better than the picture on Amazon. What I mean is, the uniqueness of the design, the shape, contour, handle and height are all perfect and it's surprisingly very light weight for a 20 oz. cup (actually holds a bit more than 20 oz. if filled to the brim). My other 17 oz. cup, different brand, is bulky feeling, especially with the coffee in it. This Clay In Motion mug also keeps the coffee warmer a bit longer than the heavier, less capacity mugs. Another reviewer noted that they felt the handle was too large and hindered them from comfortably holding the cup. I've not experienced that, not sure if the designer changed the handle or not but mine is comfortable. I've tried to upload a picture of my hand holding it for reference but it won't load.I'd been looking for a 20 oz. mug that would eliminate having to waste the few ounces of coffee left in the pot each morning (I only drink one cup every day). I like a lot of half and half in my coffee so this cup allows me to have the amount of half and half I like AND the rest of the coffee in the pot!Plan to order more!

My new favorite mug! I love the capacity. I make two servings of pour over coffee at a time and they fit in this mug with room to spare. It looks just like the picture. It’s beautiful and the quality is great.

THIS IS NOT STONEWARE!.... it is clay, fired white clay. I gave it 5 stars at first, then knocked it down to a 1 because it was defective. I was expecting heavy stoneware by the looks of the photos.... It’s a nice looking mug for what it is, I’m sure my wife will like it.... very lightweight... This was not the mug for me.... I’m still shopping! Just be aware this is that lightweight white clay pottery. THIS MUG IS NOT THAT GRITTY STONEWARE that feels like it's made from a hunk of mud, where you can still feel the sandy, gritty surface. (that's what I am looking for)If you like the lighter weight of this clay type, this is a great cup. I don't want to diss the manufacturer, these are hand made, flaws happen, things are missed sometimes. We are all human.UPDATE... There was a small, hairline crack in the bottom, once it got hot, it disintegrated.... now the mug is in pieces.Better Update!... Amazon agreed to work with me on the damaged cup.

I loved it. But it is not dishwasher safe. Mine got an almost imperceptible crack in it and is now usable for liquids. It makes a beautiful pen and pencil holder.

What do I love about this mug?1) It holds 20oz+ of coffee. That's amazing in a mug that doesn't look like you are Wally from Dilbert.2) It looks really great - I mean it's beautiful.3) The handle is great for my hand. I'm a man, so I could say it's great for a man like me. I would venture to say it's great for a woman, or anyone that has opposable thumbs. 2 thumbs up - I have never held a more comfortable mug.4) It drinks well. It's not the best lip out there for coffee but it isn't bad by any stretch - just not amazing like the rest of the mug.The only thing I don't love about this mug is that my kids were "cleaning" and broke it after I left the room this past weekend. I was very depressed - so much that I didn't even want to know what happened. Life is so dull now. I need to make them buy me another one.
