Dee Zee DZ8546 46" Red Label Utility Chest

Box came in in perfect condition. Saw a few reviews that the box was dented. Not mine. Locks work great and offer a lot of adjustment. Any one of the two latch handles opens both latches. That is very handy since I always have a tool in one hand. I tow a fifth wheel and use a tonneau cover that goes flat to the sides. There is plenty of room over the box to get the tonneau cover closed, and the fifth wheel RV can go over the box in tight radius backing up. Since I only use the box when I am RVing, I use a come along (ratchet straps) to hold the box in place. I need to space the box out the width of one 2x4 so the open lid clears the folded back Tonneau cover. I just stick the 2x4 behind the box. No attachments needed. I think the box is rugged. Sure nice to get my tools out of the RV storage space and still have them dry and secure.

I like the quality but the bump out on the back still is not enough for the lid to open when it’s in a pickup box

Put this behind the cab of my 2500HD to put tools in. It fits fine with the 5th wheel hitch and is below the top of the bed so I can cover it if I so decide to. It holds tools for the truck and 5th wheel and locks. It is a very attractive diamond pattern and strong.

Would have given 5 stars had it come with some method to lock it down more securely to the vehicle - ie welded loops, instead of handles. It does seem a little thin on the aluminum, but I suspect the cost and/or weight might make it less attractive to some. I have a roll up tonneau cover on my truck and had to place a 2x8 on the bed floor behind the box so that I could get into it. Not a big problem, but would have been nice to have had that extra 8 inches or so as storage in the box rather than wasted space in the truck bed. Overall, a sturdy box.

A tip on the lid: it comes loosely adjusted from the factory and will probably leak. However the toolbox come with detailed instructions on how to adjust the very nice lid. I adjusted until it "clicks" by pushing down on the lid a little. I have been out in pouring rain with 30 mile an hour winds and has not leaked a drop. This in addition to washing it with copious amounts of water from the hose. No leaks.

This mid range truck tool box is very well made. The lid shock absorbing openers are strong and reliable. The tool box opens easily from either side and the lock clasps allow closing and locking easy and efficiently. The aluminum used for the box is a little lighter in thickness and weight than I thought it might be, but the toolbox is a mid grade box at a very reasonable cost. Overall, this truck tool box is perfect for my grandsons dodge diesel truck, as he uses it for storage of essential emergency items and tools he may need while on the road. This box has lots of storage space as it is of a very deep spacious size.

The Box is OK. But the package…. I got two big dents on the back of the box. Not nice, but I have no time to send it back. Time is money. But this money was bad invested.

Perfect for my F150 short bed. If you're not going to bolt in with the provided hardware, be sure to cover the 2 guide holes in the bottom to keep water out. (U locked mine in from the handles to the tie-down points in the bed.). I found the tool tray to be useful. Though I wasn't expecting it to be.
