Surface Dock 2 (4x USB-C, 2x USB-A, Gigabit Ethernet port, Audio port)

This unit is expensive, however having bought a cheaper laptop dock that stopped working after a few months I think this is worth the money. Firstly having the dock's link to the laptop integrated into the power supply is really nice and avoids using up a port on the laptop and looks neater. Second it runs really cool, I cant hear a fan however I use this 12 hours or more every day with 2 monitors and other peripherals and it never gets hot and works flawlessly. Thirdly it has a wide range of ports, likely more than you'll need. The lesson for me is you get what you pay for!

The new Surface Dock 2 is a beautiful thing. Able to support two monitors and ethernet connections, the device also gives you 2 additional USB-C connections and two USB connections which are enough for now for phones, kindles, tablet charging, etc. It also allows your mobile phone to be connected for backing up and data sharing, which I liked. The only comment I have is that in an effort to make the dock itself a compact unit, they have moved the power supply components to an equally sized casing which feels a little like they cheated to get the dock itself to be so compact! Overall the unit is easy to set up and works really well with my Surface.

This product is top-notch. Plug and play - connect everything to the docking station and it's ready to go. I have two monitors, a speakerphone, a web camera and a mini USB port. What is particularly convenient is it is so easy to disconnect the power and I can take it to the office. Brilliant.

The product came in non-Microsoft packing, so I wonder if this is a refurbished product! The item was listed as discounted from £259.99 original MS price to £215. But when I looked at the invoice, it showed no VAT which means it is actually the same price as MS but without VAT on it. So the price discount is a deception used to list it as low price but it is not a low price for a business. Also, the actual products looks different from the pictures. There are no dotts on the ports of docking station.

I agonised over getting this because it seems so expensive, but I’m so glad I did. It’s completely transformed my home working set up. Now I just attach the dock cable and, in an instant, my laptop is connected to power, ethernet, a USB-C driven external monitor, mic, keyboard and mouse. My old power adaptor lives in my bag for work on the go. Can’t imagine going back.

Useful accessory and charger for the Surface , an easy to use docking solution without the clumsiness of the older design. Having easy access to a wired ethernet is great and the additional USB's come in handy Would I buy it again - Yes

This rather expensive option is the only way I have managed to connect two 4k screens at 60hz to my Surface. Even then, one screen has to be connected direct to the laptop, one to the docking station. The doxking station's sales details say you can connect 2 4k 60hz screens to it - but that doesn't work - one of them drops to 30hz if they are both on the docking station. That is a minor irritant though. I also like that it has its own power supply, so when I travel I don't need to retrieve the surface power block from deep under my desk.

The extra ports are worth it, but seems to cause issues with external usb keyboards (they don't work after some time being plugged in). There appears to be some issues with the dock when used with a Surface book that Microsoft have yet to fix. Also i've found the placement of the ports to be quite peculiar and slightly cumbersome, where it seems like the "front" (if you place the dock to the right of your surface) of the dock has just 1 usb c port facing you. So if you have devices to connect you keep in front of you, then you'll have to route the cables in a less than tidy manner.

Das Dock ist sehr gut es erfüllt seinen Zweck stürzt sehr selten ab. Alles was es soll kann es gut. Am wichtigsten ist, dass man nur ein Kabel anschließen muss und das Gerät auch über das Dock geladen wird. Ansonsten könnte man auch jeder andere Dockingstation nehmen, wenn einem das nicht so wichtig ist und man zwei Kabel anschließt. Deswegen und gerade wegen des enorm hohen Preises gebe ich keine volle Punktzahl.

Solid piece of kit. Well packaged, shipped and performs as advertised. A bit heavy but that's to be expected. It does take the place of your current charging brick.

After struggling with various hubs I got this Surface Dock 2 and it is THE BEST!!!

Ich finde die Microsoft Produktqualität immer wieder beeindruckend. Das ist auch hier der Fall. Die Ports auf dem Dock finde ich jedoch nicht so toll - ich habe mir den Dock eigentlich dafür gekauft, um einen externen Monitor anstecken zu können. Da hätte ich mir einen normalen HDMI Stecker gewünscht. Den Preis finde ich trotz der top Qualität um ~20% zu hoch.

Ihr müsst noch einen 3Pin zu 2 Pin adapter dazu holen, wenn ihr diese Version bestellt. Sonst alles Einwandfrei. Fast 300€ für ein Hub ist meiner Meinung nach zu viel, aber es tut seinen Job.
