Works as advertised
Works so much better than I expected. I was cautious at first, but it displays everything very well and does so for cheap. Great product

Full, non-blurry HD for OG Xbox
Works perfectly. Finally I can enjoy my original Xbox games in full, sharp HD. I tried several other units that needed a power supply to work and the resolution was not great. Easy setup, plug and play.

Works Real Good
This is the third one of this type adapter I ordered and tried on my original Xbox which is connected to my Samsung 42" 2k TV. The first one I bought was made by Pound, the second one made by Laboen. The Pound had a decent picture but some type of strange interference on the screen which was NOT due to the cable. The Pound when connected to my Sony 4k TV resulted in no picture. The second one by Laboen had a decent picture with no interference but required the supplied power adapter to operate. When plugged into my Sony 4k TV, I got a picture blinking in and out. When I loaded a game that changed the output to 720p, the picture stayed and looked good. This one I have now made by Kaico does not require a power adapter and had an excellent picture on my Samsung 2k but the same issue, I plugged it into my Sony 4k and got the same blinking in and out picture until I loaded a game that changed the resolution to 720p, then the picture stayed and looked great. The company says it works with all TV's which is not true. My Sony Bravia 4k (XBR-65Z9D) proves that point. However displayed on my Samsung 42" 2kTV, this product gave a picture more detailed and sharp then the rest of them without having to have a separate power supply. I highly recommend this product if using it on a 2k TV but a 4k TV, that may be hit and miss.

Excellent picture quality!
The difference between this and the av cables that came with the system cables is staggering! There’s still obviously a lot of aliasing and some noise, but such was console gaming 20 years ago. This is just what I wanted, an adapter that displays exactly what the Xbox outputs without messing with the image. This pic is of chronicles of riddick escape from butcher bay. The game does 480p max, so I have the display type setting in the console dashboard set to normal and the tv display (zoom in my tv menu, it’s an older element 50” 1080p led tv) to normal. And it does 4:3! I was stoked about this! I was worried that it would force it to stretch the image, and it thankfully doesn’t. If I change the console display type setting to widescreen, then it will display hd 480p in 16:9. That looks good too, but I prefer 4:3 for old games like this personally. Overall this exceeded my expectations and makes my games look and sound amazing! Good colors, no lag, and worked perfectly right out of the box. Well worth the money, especially given that you can buy 2 or 3 of these for the price of a used monster comp cable. But it, you won’t regret it!

Good, but some artifacting
The good: -Works perfectly in 480i mode -Working 480p (didn’t test higher res) -Very clean installation, just plug it in to the XBOX, no extra power cord needed -Is purely a converter and not an upscaler - your TV will do the scaling from 480i/p up to your panel resolution -No noticeable lag - Playing Halo feels normal. Far better than my TV’s composite processing -Audio: sounds great, stereo has right and left channels channels correct, not backwards. Haven’t tested the Optical output. The bad: -There is noticeable visual artifacting in 480p mode. See the attached picture - it manifests as thin faint grey diagonal lines that move while the screen is in use. They are hardly noticeable in some scenarios but are quite visible in dark scenes. It’s not horrible, and it’s still fun to play, but I’m taking a star off. My Framemeister gives better image quality, and also has a bunch of options for adjusting the signal, including scanlines for 480p, whereas this thing has no settings to adjust. Compared to a real external converter/ scaler setup, this dongle is much cheaper and uses less space and wires for setup, at the expense of a bit of video quality.

It just works!
This allows us to use our original Xbox on a monitor with an HDMI. Doesn't need a power supply. Picture quality is flawless.

Cheap and flawed adapter (recommendation at the end)
Spent hours trying to output 5.1 surround sound to my receiver, which is advertised by this adapter. I checked cables, receiver settings, Xbox settings, XBMC, etc., turns out that feature was a lie and it won't actually output AC3 passthrough, so no surround sound is possible. Besides that, yes this will output to HDMI fine with stereo audio, if that's all you care about. However, you will get several frames of lag and an occasional black screen. It's not a great experience, when games get demanding. After doing some research, aside from the expensive Stellar mod upgrade, I would highly recommend the Electron Shepherd ElectronXout. It solves all of these issues and is around the same cost

The adapter is GREAT but I found some problems that I managed to solve CHECK MY REVIEW FOR SOLUTION
I want to clarify, the image quality deserves 4 stars, but you my find some unexpected problems in some few setups. I will explain what happened to me. I take one point down for this, and another because in some few moments you may appreciate some vertical violet lines in some few games (not big deal, and I also found a way to solve this but is not a cheap one) I got two different TV's a taiwan brand 1080p TV and my main TV a Japanese SONY BRAVIA 50 inches 4K HDR. My Xbox is a PAL console, and thankfully was modified. Cable works perfectly in the first setup, with 576i signal, BUT image pops in and out on my 4K TV, even when my SONY TV supports 576i or 480i perfectly with other consoles. The cable advertises it supports every region console, but I guess it may give some problems with especific modes / Combos. In order to solve this problem, and please NOTE YOU MAY FIND THIS PROBLEM ONLY WITH PAL CONSOLES AND MAYBE NOT ON NTSC CONSOLES (And also improve the experience) A) You must have your PAL XBOX console modified, if you don't, the console is very easily to SOFT-HACK nowadays, just do a search about how to do it. B) Once hacked you need to find a program named "enigmah video select" usually may be included on XBMC if not install it on your XBOX modified DASHBOARD, this program will easily modify your console to NTSC C) Be sure if in your config says NTSC USA or NTSC JAP, this may change depending on your XBOX hack, for me both work, but NTSC USA still gave me some little problems, so I changed it to NTSC JAP (Probably because my SONY TV) D) This change will amazingly also improve your experience, as PAL consoles are not capable of show the best of XBOX games, how to fully enjoy this? Check point E) E) go to your non modified Dashboard (most part of mods allow this) or do it from your modified Dashboard if it allows you (mine didn't so I need to go to the original one) Go to video settings and you will see you may now activate HD resolutions output for the games that support it, 480p, 720p and 1080i F) to solve the vertical lines problem in my case and also even improve more the experience, combine the KAICO cable with a Marseille MCABLE, if your game resolucion is 480p or 720p (doesn't work with interlaced resolutions) it will upscale the image to 1080p and will apply antialias and other corrections, the results with these two cable connected are IMPRESSIVE. The attached video is a combo of the KAICO cable with the MCABLE at 1080p on my 4K TV, and it looks absolutely great with all games. (but obviously the better is the original output of the game the better it looks)
