Good product!
So far I have had no problems with these. They have worked well for me as a replacement for the original filters.

Best generic replacement filter I've found so far
I've used Pur fountain mount water filters for many years and was always able to purchase genuine Pur Replacement Filters for them but when I moved last June that kind of water filter couldn't be mounted on the sink so I purchased two Pur Pitchers. Then two months later when I needed replacement filters I was shocked to find that I couldn't buy genuine Pur Replacement Filters (Amazon seems to have stopped selling the pitcher so I think Pur might have discontinued it)--only generic third-party replacement filters were available. The first brand I tried was Overbest and I definitely was not impressed. Water drained so quickly into the pitcher it seemed like the Overbest cartridge wasn't actually filtering anything and the taste of the water was exactly the same as when it came out directly from the tap. While looking at other brands I noticed something strange--multiple brands of replacement filters had product pages that were nearly identical from top to bottom including the Information About The Company Section which existed in the exact same place on every company listing. The filters they sold all looked identical and the product pages all made nearly identical filtration claims. ICEPURE claimed to filter more contaminants than the other brands so I decided to try their replacement cartridge. Overbest boasts that their filter reduces 96.5% chlorine and reduces contaminants like lead, arsenic, scale, and rust. ICEPURE says their filter reduces 23+ contaminants and 99% of lead and mercury. I have no independent way of verifying that but water does drain more slowly with ICEPURE which suggests to me that it might be performing more thorough filtration than Overbest. ICEPURE also has a unique design so you can tell it's not the same as other companies that are very likely selling the exact same replacement cartridge under different brand names. Those replacement cartridges have a raised plastic tab on top like the genuine Pur cartridge while ICEPURE has a textured top to provide grip when replacing the cartridge. Even though I have no way to verify the filtration claimed by ICEPURE there is one thing that I can definitely say since I have one pitcher with an Overbest cartridge and one with ICEPURE--filtered water tastes better with ICEPURE. Flavor is crisper, more appealing, and closer to the flavor that you would get with a genuine Pur Cartridge. I'm still not happy that I can't get authentic Pur Replacement Cartridges and might look into replacing both of these pitchers but until I do I'll be using ICEPURE's replacement cartridges. The quality is better than Overbest and many other brands seem to be peddling the exact same replacement cartridge that Overbest is selling.

Does not work.
I sent several messages explaining that the filters won't allow the water thru. I also explained that I tried everything that they recommended. In response from the company they gave me the spiel of what I need to try again.I already tried all that and said that I needed to send pictures. I can't even imagine what a picture would show. It's just plain simple. They are not working and I have used this for fifteen years. And I just put another one in today.I have went through three of them in a few weeks, and it's not working either. Just be awareThey will not give you any help.

Hard to believe the 5-star reviews
The genuine Pur filters are way overpriced, so I took a chance on a highly rated generic. I read and followed the directions how to soak for 15 minutes, then rinse then insert into the pitcher. First of all, this first filter was light weight and felt less than full. Second, it refused to float at all. Ok, sometimes I'd need to hold one underwater until the air bubbles escaped, then the filter would sink to the bottom. Not this filter. As my hand froze in the cold water, I devised a plan to weigh it down using tongs and a rubber band. That didn't hold it down, so I propped a meat tenderizer hammer on the thing. I was in the kitchen. It was heavy and at hand. After a 45 minute soak, with the tenderizer and tongs removed, it still floated like a cork. Ok, I thought, maybe this off brand is supposed to float, so I put it into the pitcher. Or tried to. Although this filter looks like the Pur filters, and was the same size, the tabs on the sides that are supposed to catch the threads in the pitcher seemed to catch, then slipped and loosened, with no great pressure from me. The seal was broken, allowing unfiltered water right into the pitcher. I tried 2 more times with the same result. Naturally, I stood looking at the thing, wondering what I'd done wrong. I reread the directions. I went online to recheck this was the right filter for my pitcher. It seemed I'd done everything right, so I put the wet "filter" into a zip baggie and returned the box. Now I have to go elsewhere to find genuine Pur filters since Amazon is no longer competitive on price. What a waste of time. I'm not often disappointed in Amazon.
