Professional mechanic. Does not fit. Can not use. 85 GMC Caballero.
Does not fit the most important aspects of the related components. Will not allow you to reinstall the lock plate because of how this part causes the combination of those two parts to stand off too far from the circlip groove.In other words, don't waste your time buying this part, buy the original.

Will not work on a GM tilt column
Well made looked like mine, at least from the pictures but like others have mentioned, it will not fit on a GM column with tilt. You need the Dorman 83232. Amazon was out of stock so I found one at O'Reilly's. There needs to be a better description of this part.

Poor design
It did work after modification. The diameter is big enough that the brass plate was rubbing on the screw that holds the turn signal lever. It would be fine except that it is not a complete circle. It has flats cut into each side. The flats would catch the screw when turning the steering wheel.
