Aphogee Two-step Protein Treatment for Damaged Hair 4 Fl Oz

Listen. My hair was out here crackling like a Dorito. Overprocessed, overbleached, overcooked by a stylist who swore she “knew what she was doing.” Lies. This stuff? A literal resurrection in a bottle. I thought I was going bald. I thought the only thing left to do was apologize to my scalp and start over. But ApHogee said “not on my watch.” Smells wild (like a science experiment), feels stiff while it's working, but trust the process. My hair came back from the dead stronger, shinier, and with attitude. Like it knew it had survived a war. 10/10. Would recommend to anyone whose hair is holding on by a prayer and a scrunchie.

The best treatment to restore your hair. You have to know how to use it. About twice a month, dry it with a heat source and before detangling your hair, you have to remove it thoroughly. It's an excellent protein!

After damaging my hair quite badly earlier this year, I was experiencing a lot of breakage and generally unhealthy looking hair. After a lot of research, I found many people recommending this (along with the Balancing Moisturiser). Apparently it’s an ‘OG’ in the natural hair community! I bought them separately as the the moisturiser bottle is significantly smaller in the kit, and I have A LOT of hair (less than before though). I wouldn’t say it is difficult to use, but you do have to follow the instructions to the letter: Wash your hair, apply generously on clean damp hair, allow to dry (preferably blow dry) until rock hard. DO NOT TOUCH OR MANIPULATE AT THIS STAGE! Rinse out thoroughly and follow with the Balancing Moisturiser. Application is messy, the solution is sticky, and it will get everywhere, but all of the pros outweigh the cons. My hair, which has never experienced breakage, was breaking off every time I brushed or washed it. After this treatment, I have had ZERO breakage whatsoever. It is extremely effective, one just has to be aware of balancing protein and moisture in their routine. I’ve used this twice, about 8 weeks apart, and will continue at the same interval until the bottle is finished. I may repurchase if necessary, or I may downgrade to a less intensive treatment like the Aphogee Hair Strengthening 2-pack, or the 2-min Keratin Reconstructor. Highly highly recommend for damaged, breaking hair.

I've used this product before and I like it a lot. It doesn't contain a non water soluable silicone so you have to wash with a sulfate shampoo to get that residue off. If you cant wash with sulfates then you'll have to find another treatment. But my hair can handle it no problem so I don't mind. I am deducting one star though because it came very poorly packaged. There was no film on the bottle keeping the cap on and there was no other measures taken to protect the bottle. It was thrown into a very large bubble wrap lined bag when it could have easily come in a much smaller box and wrapped with bubble wrap. Luckily it didn't open and completely spill out but a good amount leaked out and was all over the bottle and the bag. So please package your products more carefully.

I had extremely damaged hair after going from dyed black to brown, (my hair is naturally dark brown, straight, fine and about 50% gray). After color removal and several bleach treatments my hair was like straw, would not hold color at all, and my only option appeared to cut it all off. After reading about Aphogee Two-step treatment, I felt like this was my last option (before cutting off the damage!) I had already tried many conditioning treatments with no improvement including K-pak, coconut oil overnight, etc. First, I read up on the application process, as well as all the reviews I could find. I then applied the Aphogee Two-Step with a spray bottle, it is messy and starts hardening in about 5 minutes, so I saturated my hair and then loosely piled it on top on my head, blow dried for 50 minutes until it was hard and seemed as dry as it would get. Per suggestions from previous reviewers, I reclined in the tub to allow my hardened hair to soften and then showered and rinsed for several minutes. I applied Biolage conditioning balm to my hair for about 5 minutes and rinsed. I added some Its-a-10 and some Fekkai glossing cream. Okay, so after all of this, my hair still looked bad, it was less dry and somewhat healthier looking, but it was not a miracle or dramatic improvement. I hoped that after coloring it would improve. I waited 24 hours and colored with a non-permanent color, conditioned with Biolage for about 5 minutes, rinsed, towel dried & applied Its-a-10 & fekkai glossing cream. Wow! My hair looked good, it felt soft and held the color.It's been two weeks now and the color still looks great! There has been a huge improvement and I am very happy that I will not need to cut off all my hair. Some tips: Apply with a spray bottle. Plan beforehand where you will place your hair to ensure that it will completely dry, you cannot move it AT ALL once it dries as it may break off! Wear gloves, the product is sticky and a bit irritating to the skin. I used a hand dryer and it worked great, just plan at least 30 minutes of straight blow drying. Before using, read all the reviews, I found this very helpful. I don't plan on using it again at this time, but if I do, you need to wait 6 weeks between treatments. Make sure to condition afterwards with a non-protein condition. Only use this if your hair is extremely damaged, it is not for healthy hair. Thanks!

Good treatment . My hair felt so much smoother afterwords. Does dry out hair so be sure to moisturize hair very well after the treatment.

I love love love this product. It’s contribute to the great health of my natural hair. I use it then I use the balancing moisturizer treatment that softens my hair type, strengthens my hair and is for all the hair type is easy to use is a bit sticky when dry and makes your hair stiff, but is effective.

Let me start by saying that this product helped me through a terrible hair crisis. Due to a chemical reaction, my hair turned to gum and I lost 3/4 of my long, beautiful hair:( I wish I'd known about this before my catastrophe. After I found this, it changed my hair texture back from gum to normal, strong hair. I will say that it did not change the texture, so it didn't help with frizz but it definitely rebonded the rest of my gummy hair. I now skip the 2nd step and use my own extreme moisture product, because step 2 stinks WAY too much and it's more like a conditioner. The process is weird. You wash, them apply, dry it, and then rinse and condition. I find it very sticky while I'm using it but I now use it every 6 weeks or so to maintain the integrity of my hair. I lost my hair almost 6 months ago and since I started to use this, I haven't lost anymore.

I HAD to write this review: I had 4C hair texture, then I got a keratin treatment a month ago and my hair is likely a 4B with defined rift curls. However the last two weeks my hair began to shed drastically! A friend of a friend told me about this product. Expensive but willing to give it a try! I used liquid keratin shampoo then applied the treatment as instructed on the bottle. Note it’s really liquidy so next time I’ll likely put it in a spray bottle. Also it very sticky when drying and smells. I used it prior to taking a shower and I stayed in the washroom during the drying time. Highly recommended! Once I rinsed it, i then used liquid keratin conditioner to condition my hair for 15 mins. Towel dried my hair and used the Aphogee keratin spray and oil mayonnaise leave in treatment. Then I Blow dried my hair with an ion brush dryer! Love it! I applied a few drops of sweet almond oil and straightened with L’Oréal steam pod. Two days as of today and my hair has STOPPED shedding! Yes it was a combination of all but I must say using a protein treatment once a month or biweekly is VERY important to maintain healthy, strong hair! Also the main reason I used keratin based shampoo and conditioner was to maintain my keratin treatment.
