Happy to find a lower sodium version of “fish” sauce. Tastes good!

I'm not a cook by trade, but I regularly cook for church groups and fund raisers (12-100 meals, usually), and people look forward to my turn cooking. I'm omnivorous usually, but we had a mission feeding on Ash Wednesday, so I converted my Thai red curry recipe to be vegetarian - and it was just as good! Checking ingredients, the fish sauce and flat bread were the only things keeping it from being vegan, so I thought I'd take those last steps for a vegan alternative July's fundraiser dinner. I did a test cook using this product at the house, and wasn't really pleased. Testing afterwards, my nose told me it was this sauce - the smell is only slightly different than fish sauce, but not nearly as intense. I doubled the quantity (1 tsp per 1 cup serving vs 1/2tsp per 1 cup serving) in some leftovers, and that turned the trick! I also found a great vegan tandoori flatbread, so the July fundraiser is on, with both chicken and vegan options!

I'm really enjoying this "No Fish" sauce. It has a nice savory flavor. I am also sensitive to soy, and this is one of the rare vegan "fish" sauce products that is soy-free. It's a winner in my book.

This is the ONLY brand I'll purchase but what hurts is I can only find this on Amazon. I can find all kinds of other things made by this company at the local stores but not this particular item. I love this stuff too. I use it in all kinds of dishes! I love it in my Kimchi :) but it's great in most everything. I highly recommend this and this company. Thank you Amazon for carrying this :)

I made lettuce cups for a gathering. I have a recipe that's a hit at all parties, but this time, there was one friend who is a vegetarian. I subbed tofu and mushrooms for the ground chicken I usually use, and bought this to sub for fish sauce. Overall, I'd say it was ok. The tofu (freeze then squeeze out the moisture) & mushroom sub worked great. So great that I'd definitely do that again! This vegan fish sauce didn't work so great as a sub for fish sauce though. It's drastically weak compared to true fish sauce. It lacks the tang and sharpness and surprisingly, also lacks saltiness too. My recipe calls for just a couple tbsp of fish sauce. Using this as a sub, I had to use almost a half the bottle plus add soy sauce too. Were the lettuce cups a complete bust? No. Was this vegan fish sauce a decent sub? No. I guess if your diet is restricted, this might be an adequate better-then-nothing sub, but I gave her the half empty bottle to take home with her as I had no desire to use it for us again.

Like some others, I was pleasantly surprised to receive three samples of different types of broth with my purchase. That's all well and good as long as the main product tastes good. I popped the bottle open after shaking it quite well and tried a little capful straight. I LOVE soy sauce and nearly every Chinese dish there is but my recently developed issues with soy (and extra carbs) prevents me from enjoying something I've eaten forever. This sauce is the best substitution I've had! Great flavor without the soy and heavy carbs! I'm a big Vietnamese food fan and have been using real fish sauce in cooking for many years. Our daughter decided to go Vegan so I've been looking for something like this. It's not a 1 for 1 replacement, but it's great as it does add a similar flavor to the dishes I make. Our order also came with extras as listed in other reviews. There was a little card describing the extras as a promotion. We have not tried the broths yet, but I loved the included drink as it was not so sweet like many other bottled drinks.
