Best towel I've tried so far!
This review is for the bath towel only. I have not yet tried the hand towels or washcloths. I've owned one of these towels for about a year now, and it's been pretty great. It's super absorbent, large enough to wrap around yourself comfortably, and fairly soft. I've bought all kinds of towels over the last few years trying to find one that I like. I've had everything from the super cheap towels that you can barely wrap around yourself to the more fancy Egyptian cotton towels and so far this Africa bath towel has been my favorite. This towel is actually relatively thin when compared to others such as Egyptian cotton, yet it feels like it absorbs water just as well if not better. I am able to dry myself faster than with any other towel I've used so far. Additionally, the thinness makes it feel light, and not cumbersome like some of the thicker towels can be. I personally went with the white color for this towel. It pretty low maintenance... I just toss it in with my whites wash and it comes out looking good as new! I will definitely be ordering more of these.

Nice towels for a cause
The purchase of this towel supports the cotton farmers in Africa. The towel is made in the USA. I read from an independent review that this towel was one of the best values and best performers. I figured I'd buy 4 and throw the dice. Before I did anything, I cut out the red tag. I read in one review that it could bleed into the towel and stain everything.NnThe towel is long and absorbent. It isn't too thick, nor is it very soft out of the box. The manufacturer's recommend was to wash before use. The construction is done very well. Overall, I liked the towel. My wife didn't care for it. She wants thicker and heavier. I'll give a review update after a few months to see how this stands up to the long term test. I'll give it my two thumbs up.

Perfect!
We received 4 of these as wedding gifts. I must admit that I added them to our registry in the first place only because it was a popular item others were adding to their registry! Luckily, they were completely worth the "blind" choice. Not only were the 4 we received so wonderfully large and soft, I ordered 2 more to have enough on hand when guests are over, I was so pleased with the quality and size. They have been washed several times now, and continue to live up to daily wear. Very sturdy cotton construction - a little stiff if line dried (which is remedied with a few shake-outs), but if run through the dryer they come out wonderfully soft. If you're looking for towels that will last you for years to come, these are definitely worth the price.

Not what I was looking for..
I was looking for some really nice, THICK towels to give to somebody as a gift. I've never owned or bought any myself, so I did A LOT of research into what the best plush and high quality towels may be. The criteria I wanted were: very thick, soft, & great absorbency (so it didn't feel like you were just rubbing wet cotton all over your body). I bought these towels cause a lot of reviews raved they were plush and had good absorbency. I was disappointed when I received them due to how they felt. They weren't the softest towel I've ever felt (Vera Wang brand at Kohls were much softer), and they reminded me of the white hotel towels you'd find at Comfort Inns or Best Western's (which I don't consider 'luxury'). They were thin/light and a little rougher than I wanted - by "rougher" I don't mean stiff or scratchy by any means, but it wasn't SUPER soft. Basically these towels did not impress me (and I've always bought Target towels). I did not test these so I am not going to comment on their absorbency or quality. I'm sure they're great towels but purely on how they felt, I returned them. I ended up going to Macy's and buying the Macy's Hotel Collection Luxury Cotton towels - AMAZING! The towels felt a lot softer than the Mills, and they were also a lot thicker and heavier feeling (which I prefer). I was really impressed with how soft they felt. The Macy's also dry/absorb VERY well, and very quickly. They don't even feel wet after I dry myself off. I can't compare them to the Mills though cause I've never used the Mills. I don't consider the Mills "plush" cause they're thin and not SUPER soft. If you prefer lighter towels then I'm sure these are great, and I LOVE the cause that these towels bring to Africa. But if you're looking for thick, heavy AND really soft towels I would recommend the Macy's over these Mills.

My favorite towel
It's pricy for a single towel but I think it's worth it. It's a great towel, very thick, very absorbent, good size where it wraps around my spare tire with ease unlike my other towels which are a tight fit around my 41 inch waiste. Maybe 4 stars on the softness, but I'm a guy, it's perfectly soft for me. My only complaint, and it's a small one, somebody who shall remain nameless insists on throwing a bounce in with this when she runs the drier and the towel smells like poo-pourri. It holds the smell maybe cause it's thick, I don't know, but other than having to dry it separately, not with the sheets and other stuff, it's great. I've ordered another one. Now, it's just been a few weeks so I can't attest to how long it will last but it feels sturdy and I think it will last a long time. Overall - I love it. It's a 6 star item.

I bought this towel to act as padding for a new headboard. It was cheaper than buying extra padding at the fabric store. It is very large and nice and thick. I washed it before using it and it washed and dried well. I'm sure it would make a good towel if that is what you need.

Very heavy and thick. Should soften up after a few washes, but it really works well and feels great. Probably will buy at least one more for a set. Maybe more.
