Works, but requires a high-wattage power source
Some reviewers have said that this cable just doesn't work; I thought the same when I first got it. When I used a phone charging brick or a USB-C power strip, the Surface wouldn't acknowledge that it was plugged in at all. But, when I plugged it in to my MacBook Pro charging brick, it worked! The Surface Pro 2 wasn't designed to charge from USB-C, so this is probably unavoidable: it needs a lot of power, and if you can't provide that, it won't charge.

No good for older models
Doesn't work for my surface. Was supposed to be easy and convenient but it doesn't work. Maybe I got a bad wire or my surface is that old, but it won't provide a charge

fights tight, make sure it's secured
This doesn't snap into place like the OEM charging cable does, so can be a bit finicky to get connected. Also it only handles 2amps, so having a 60w or larger charger isn't going to get you any extra charge time, and will likely barely charge your surface while you are using it (if using it heavily).
