See what you are doing
LED lighting is bright, better than the old incandescent versions. Works as expected. I purchased a couple of these to use for up close work. Had cataract replacement and lost all the up close capability. Yes, I look like a jeweler but it is what it is.

A homeowners version of what professionals use
This head banded magnifier is much like inspection head band magnifiers I have used in the electronics industry, just a cheaper build with a much cheaper price. The extra stereo flip magnifier is a great addition to just the single swivel down magnifier of which I have used, and does work very well. The headband swivels to fit the adjustment know behind the magnifiers. If you collapse it too far, it will be tight to expand the head band to where the adjustment knob can do it's job. It's comfortable with no sharp edges, magnifies well, and the swivel light also provides good coverage. Professionals use these because your hands are free and they works so well.

Pleasantly surprised
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this magnifier worked. I feel that I got a lot more than what I paid for. Given its low price, I was not expecting very much, but I needed a magnifier for some watch repair that I had undertaken. Let me first say why I was surprised and the follow with a few comments regarding some negatives. Pros - - It did the job of magnifying enough for me to get what I need to do done. The image was certainly sharp enough to focus on the very small screws inside of a watch. - Due to cataract surgery, I am completely farsighted, with no close-in focusing ability. Nonetheless, the lenses did allow me to see things close-up without my glasses, and through the distance part of my bifocal lens. I could not, however, see through the reading part of my bifocal because I could not lower the lens assembly enough to do so. I found it best not to use my glasses when using the magnifier. - I liked the light and the fact that it could be tilted down and to the side - I liked the fact that I had three magnification levels to choose from, although I found that I mostly used it at the 3X setting. The 1.5X configuration (with one internal lens folded back) did not do much and the higher power loop was only for one eye, but did come in handy for very small parts. Cons - - This is an inexpensive magnifier, and the straps are not terribly robust. - The adjustment is via a plastic buckle and adjusts in steps of about 1/8 of an inch. It is not infinitely adjustable via a turning knob. - The head strap is relatively stiff and not very comfortable. It tended to cut my ears a bit All in all, very good for occasional use. However, if I had to wear this magnifier for an 8-hour workday I would probably look for a more comfortable and probably more durable device.

Good Magnifier. Light could be stronger.
Seems to be a decent magnifier. Bought it because it had a light. It uses 2 AAA batteries. Did not want to use button batteries because they are not as ubiquitous as AAA or AA, these you can get anywhere and I'll be green and use rechargeables. Head band adjusts well and fairly comfortable. The piece that holds the lenses moves up and down and you lock it into place using 2 twist knobs on the sides. You can also wear glasses while using this. If you wear big frames, it might be an issue. You increase the magnification by flipping down a 2nd set of fixed lens and you can still do it while wearing it, with glasses on, no. It's spring loaded and it clips into place when you bring it down. The 3rd lens is the loupe lens and is for the right eye. You should be able to swap it out and use it for your left eye as the fixed lens and loupe are held down by philips screws. I would only do this once because this item is 98% plastic and you would simply wear out the screw holes. The lenses are not glass. Using the loupe is really for concentrating on a specific section. As the magnification increases your field of view reduces and you need to hold the object closer. If it was not for the light, a strong pair of reading glasses will probably suffice or you could use a strong pair of reading glasses and a flashlight. The light is adjustable. You can move it left or right (I don't see why anyone would want to as you would just turn their head), who points the light in a different direction and looks straight ahead. Moving it up or down to concentrate the light is what most would do. The light is not going to win any lumens race and the throw is very small, about a foot at best, 2 feet for those who can convince themselves it is usable at that distance and is really made to shine light on an object you are working on in front of you. For under 10.00 it works. If you sell small items, it is useful to help check the condition so you can note any defects in your listing. Having a light gives you hands free convenience, too bad it is not stronger and brighter. I won't use something like this often enough to justify spending more on a higher end product.

I ordered this head magnifier not totally sure about the quality. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it and put it to work. the whole thing is made of plastic which contributes to its light weight. the only metal parts are the two screws on the temple areas. the head piece sits comfortably on the head and does not move once adjusted. The magnifiers are quite adequate, so you don't have to bring the job right under your nose to see it, like some of the other counterparts out there. there are three layers of magnification on the head piece which is more than enough for any eye. It also has a nice fluorescent light on the top which works surprisingly well with two AAA batteries which are also included in the package. I think they should improve on the plastic band that goes around the head. It feels too thin and may break if bent. Overall, Im very pleased with this product and will buy from the seller again.
