This is the best in class.
10 years of using amazon, I have never written a review. But this thing is just so good I have to let people know. I bought this to help oxygenate my UNS 30C which is a 7 Gallon Rimless cube that sits on my desk in my bedroom, so it comes I unpack plug it in and I can't tell it is on until the airstone is in the water. Thats how quiet this is. I would post a picture or a video but that wont do it justice. 1 thing to be mindful of the airstone that the pump is not that great because it is louder than the pump. yes the bubbles are louder than the pump. I strongly suggest you find a different one if your main interest is pure silence. I bought an acrylic disc and will update my review when that comes in. Small, Silent, Perfect.

Really quiet; a couple of setup concerns-both solvable; highly recommended
This actually IS really quiet and boy am I grateful. I have purchased two of these now for tanks located near my bedroom. The only sound is the fizzing of the bubbles. However, this comes in a small box (of course) and the air hose is tightly coiled. It has a memory and it is impossible to straighten it so that it stays where you want it and doesn’t spiral all over the place in the tank. I tried plant weights, which helped a little and clamping it to the rim at the top which helped a little. In the end I used a different piece of air hose that was straighter. The second thing is that the suction cup that comes with it doesn’t do a great job of holding the unit in place. This is partly because of the tension created by the stiffness and the end in the air hose at the top necessarily created by attaching the air hose to the unit. I ended up using a bigger suction cup left over from another project. Both problems are solvable and the silent running of the unit is worth it. Highly recommended.

Does the Job, Still Some Tweaks
I have two ten gallon freshwater tanks, both with sponge filters, and the pumps I had hooked up to said filters at the time had a bit too much power for the size tank they were working and therefore were causing too much disturbance in the water. Bought this for one tank to see how well it works and did end up buying another for the other. It does its job, but is a bit loud for its size, sometimes getting slightly louder for a short period of time, but overall not so loud that you can’t get used to it. It pumps just enough air to the filter to let it do its job without disturbing the water much. And tip: it looks like it’s barely working when you first hook it up, but let it run for a while and it’ll start running better.

This thing is GREAT!
I had recently purchased a Fluval 3 gallon Betta tank and set it up with some live plants. This tank boasts an extremely low-flow set up, which has been great for my betta but not so much for promoting good circulation around some of the soft- and hardscapes in the tank. With this little air pump, I have been able to greatly increase the circulation of the tank. I did need to utilize a little air flow-regulator that I purchased elsewhere and had handy from another tank project and so that I could adjust the flow of the air pump to just the right level. This little pump does have a fabulously strong air output so, if you're looking for something light for a smaller tank like myself, pick up a flow regulator and adjust accordingly to your needs! It's small size, strong suction cup, and complete package (tubing and air stone included) allow for a quick, clean, and effective set up!

This really works!!!!
This little air stone really works well!! It’s SO QUIET!! Any noise you may hear is from the air unit in my daughter’s room. The air stone produces a lot of bubbles and the fish really seem to like it. It was a great buy and addition to her tank. I recommend for anyone with a small tank needing to add some air flow. It’s easy to set up and does really work!

Super quiet, very happy I switched to this one!
I bought an air pump from Walmart for my tank and immediately found out it was incredibly loud. I live in a studio apartment and I could not have the air pump on for more than a couple minutes because the buzzing was horrible and could be heard from any part of my home. I was hesitant to order a different one online because it seemed hard to tell when one really would be silent or not based on reviews and all of them claiming to be silent. But this one is virtually silent! The air pump itself makes almost no noise and can only be heard if you're holding it close to you, while running I can only hear the filter itself which is not a fault of the air pump. I haven't had to turn it off to get some peace like I did with my last one. I would have never been able to leave the pump running at night with the old one I had, and I'm very impressed with this one for the price.

Great At First
I've had this for 4 months and it just recently started to get super loud. It works fine - puts out plenty of air bubbles and surface agitation - but the loudness is a problem for me. It used to be mostly silent. Since it's cheap I knew it was a risk, but I enjoy most of Hygger's products so figured I'd give it a shot. I would've expected it to work for at least 6 months if not longer, but oh well.
