A Brush To Treasure Throughout the Years
***** This is a review for a pocket or small (about 6 3/4 inches long) Mason Pearson brush made of five rings of mixed boar bristle and nylon. The longer bristles are nylon and the shorter ones are boar bristle. It is a beautiful heirloom brush worth every penny of the incredibly high price. All of the larger Mason Pearson brushes, including this one, come with a cleaning brush, so that you can easily clean loose hairs out of your brush. There are two things you need to know when you're ready to buy a Mason Pearson brush of any sort. One is the size: full-size (the largest size), handy (medium sized), or pocket (the smallest size). This is important not so much because of where the brush will be kept (say, in your handbag), but because of the bristle length of the various sizes. The smaller sizes have shorter bristles. The bristles have to be able to reach your scalp, and massage it and distribute the oils throughout your hair. If you want a small brush but you have thick or long hair, you'd do better with a larger size. The other consideration is the bristle type. Do you want a mixed bristle brush like this one that is part boar bristle and part nylon? What is most comfortable and performs the best with your hair. This mixed bristle brush will work well for you if your hair is fine to normal and not too long or too thick. Otherwise, you'll need to go with the Detangler because the bristles are stiffer and can reach down through all of your hair to the scalp; the Detangler is the only Mason Pearson brush that can reach the scalp of extremely thick hair. Mason Pearson also makes an All Boar Bristle Brush for finer or shorter hair but I have never tried it. So, this mixed bristle brush is for normal, finer, and shorter hair. I bought it for myself but my husband uses it; although I have short hair it is very thick and straight and coarse and the brush bristles won't reach all the way to my scalp, but slides over the top hairs. My husband loves it dearly though, and really enjoys using it himself, or as a special treat, allowing me to brush his hair. This makes the expense of a Mason Pearson brush well worth the money--it's a luxury item and the purchase is an investment--but it's worth it. If you're the type of person who would rather enjoy an evening at home having your hair brushed by your spouse instead of going to dinner and a movie, then you can justify the cost. That's how we did it :) For additional information on Mason Pearson visit their web site at masonpearson dot com. Highly recommended. *****

This brush will last for 10+ years
I bought my first Mason-Pearson hair brush, a pocket version for my purse, at 15-years old. I replaced it at 30 years, then 45, and just recently purchased a new one and gave the old one to my daughter to keep in her book bag. Best hair brushes and worth every penny. The only one that comes even close is a German brand that is hard to find and not as sturdy. If you care about your hair, this is the brush for you!

Best hairbrush made
This is my 3rd Mason Pearson brush. I have one that is easily 20 years old and still as good as when I first bought it (in England). I wanted a small one and bought two less expensive brushes that just did not meet my needs so I decided not to waste money on an inferior brush and bought another Mason Pearson brush. The bristles are just stiff enough. They hold up well - none ever fall out. I have curly hair and it manages it very well. It's an expensive brush but will last decades.

Effective Versatile and Small
I've been using a Mason Pearson brush for over 30 years. They seem to last about 10 years before they lose bristle. It is wildly expensive, but worth the price to me. I have fairly thick and long hair and it has never been a problem. It is small enough to travel in a light toilet kit. If you have very long thick hair, it might be a bit too strong and you'll have to brush more and lightly. I give this my highest recommendation even at the price.

Small size fine for fine hair
These are EXPENSIVE brushes. For a work-around on the price, I purchased this little "travel" brush as my everyday brush. I'm a fully grown adult with long hair, but my hair is both fine and straight. It breaks pretty easily too, so it was important for me to finally invest in a long-lasting and well-made brush that is healthiest for my hair. The price had put me off for a long time, but now that I have one I see it's one of those things worth spending money on. I'm writing this review after having it for a year. I feel like I get excellent brushing quality without breakage, and it is supposed to help distribute your hair/scalp's natural oils well. I hope the brush will last a lifetime, but if it doesn't, I'll buy another.

Brush is nice, but not the price
I bought this brush at the recommendation of my hair cutter, and he thought the Amazon price I paid was very good. I guess I had never graduated to paying this much for a hairbrush, so the initial sticker shock was a jolt. That said, I do love the brush--its size, shape and gentle touch make styling a more pleasant task than before. It took me a while to get used to the small size and oval shape, but now I credit these features with the brush's effectiveness.

Worth the try if you fight tangles.
This company was great. I confirmed the product w/them before ordering. They answered my email within a few minutes with perfect costumer service. Mason Pearson brushes bought directly from the manufacturer, brand new, legitimate, & not 2nds, etc. for much less than recommended retail price. The discounts basically paid for the 2nd brush. As for the MP debate, I have hair that tangles insanely & for 35+ years I have never been able to find a brush that can perform, for me, like MP mixed bristle/nylon. Thank goodness they have stayed in business and haven't decreased their quality. They are a necessity for me despite the price. Worth the try if you fight tangles. And with their longevity, that also justifies the price. These 2 are to replace ones I lost but my main brush I am still using, I believe, was purchased in London in 1980!

TERRIBLE DO NOT BUY. IT’S PINK AND THERE ARE NO BOAR BRISTLES

Well, just be cautious to check the COLOUR before you buy. The image is black, but I somehow ended up with mine in baby pink. Not that crazy about the colour, but I guess it was my mistake. ??? Love the brush and can't say enough good about Mason Pearson.

The only brush you'all ever need ... I have normal thickness, wavy hair. Used wooden brush, other boar bristle brushed, then tangle teezer.. now all is in the storage room. This brush is magic .. makes the hair look so well groomed, conditioned, classy. Distributed the oils and makes them look top! plus doesn't break them like tangle teezer.. ! Watch out this is pocket size! I use years the bigger size and decided to get the pocket too.

È oggettivamente un prodotto molto costoso, ma è la migliore in assoluto sul commercio... la uso da 40 anni, e ricomprandola ritrovo la stessa qualita'.
