solid connection
As separate pieces, the gold finish is clean, the fingers that fit into the banana jack are loose on the metal body, but fit tightly into the jack and do not show evidence of making a loose connection. The set screw tightens well onto the wire. There is no strain relief, I would suggest shrink tubing or tape on the wire as it exits the plug. The plastic appears a bit cheap with flash from the mold evident, but seems adequate.

Finicky but they work.
These are definitely not the highest quality. The screw is double duty - it holds the conductor in the connector and the cover on the connector. Depending on the size of the conductor, this can get messy. I planned on soldering wires into the plugs which works but you have to be careful you dont use too much solder or you cant screw the cover on. The diameter of the plug end is not controlled very well. I had to squeeze several of them down to make them right. These are the cheapest out there though so I can't really complain.

Functional - but tedious to install
Cheap!! Initially I was inclined to write that I didn't like them (2 star), but I used the first 20 and realized that for the price these are competent and sufficiently functional. My opinion is based upon using 16/2 with the inserted length doubled over and tinned, and also with 12/2 just twisted in. The wire is accepted into this plug's design only about one quarter of an inch. If you don't tin the wire ends of thinner wire you have very little hope of a physical connection that will last long at all. They are what they are, and if they are used in a quiet area behind a home audio system without too much commotion behind it they will be fine. I'd actually have gone to I like it (4 star) if I didn't strip out (just one of the 20) the tiny screws that is used to catch the wire. I didn't cross thread it, I just over torqued it and that's a feat with a #0 phillips screwdriver. You may regret that you didn't spend a bit more when you must fuss with those tiny screws, but once in I'm thinking they will stay and bottom line function was served for me.

Better Sound / Ease of Use
These plugs work very well for the price. I am no audiophile but I do like to get the most of my entertainment system. Up until buying these, I was simply screwing the wires directly to the back of my receiver. This was not only difficult to do with all the different wires connected to the equipment, but it also did not provide the best contact. I was able to notice a slight but real difference in my speaker output once these were installed.

Bad Product -- Plugs Break Apart When Removed From Amplifier
These banana plugs have a manufacturing design flaw. Do not buy. The center pins holding the plugs together are not well secured to the rest of the plug. When removing the plugs from my 5 channel receiver (to move it from the dry-run set-up on my kitchen counter to the permanent location in the entertainment center), 4 of the 10 plug ends remained inside the receivers speaker terminals. Needed needle-nose pliers to remove. Checking the remaining six, several of pins were loose from the reset of the plug body. Bad product design with poor manufacturing quality control. Severely defective.

Better than raw wires
I was tired of pulling speaker cables out and having the wire end be all frayed. This totally cleans up the back of my receiver and by the speakers so it's much easier to move them and clean behind them.

Not very secure
This style and brand of banana clips are difficult to install and cheap. Firstly they only have 1 tiny screw, it doesn't hold the wire securely place and often the wire comes out. 2nd when removing the plug they can break. The tip becomes separated from the base and is left in the speaker hole.. I had 3 break.. I do not recommend this product..

Not flimsy like some others. Screw-terminals nice and tight. Very happy.
