In Rome, players take on the role of the emerging aristocrat families aiming to ascend to glory with the rise of the roman republic as they form the greatest empire the civilized world has ever laid eyes on. Over the course of five rounds, players try to amass riches and garner respect by assembling legions, conquering new provinces, taking over important political offices and appeasing the crowds with impressive shows in the arena. The most prestigious roman family will take over the newly formed empire and win eternal glory. Review: Good quick game with lots of flavor - We've had a lot of fun with this game. The dice mechanism works nicely and offers some good opportunities for strategic play. The components are good, the artwork is very nice, and the whole thing plays quickly and well. The thematic flavor is also an important part of the fun. Review: Short and Sweet - This game is hard to rate. It has elements of many other board games, all put together in a simple dice placement mechanic. The strategy is light and easy, but almost too light for all the ingredients of the game. Basically you have three main sections of the game. One is you purchase territory, which gives you some goods ( just points really) and you gather senators, which gives you powers, and finally you collect contestants for the Arena (a deck building element). The luck of the dice heavily influences your decisions, but the senators can help with that. I like this game, but it is over so quickly, and sometimes the reason you might do something in the game is obscure...especially when you first play it. The VP chart is too small, and it goes up to 70 I believe, but there seems to be no reason that I have found to have that many spaces. So far, the people I have played it with don't seem to clamor for more, but I enjoy it. Mostly because I love anything with a history theme, and I enjoy the light gameplay. I would actually rate this 3.5 stars or even 4, if were just a bit longer and clearer in some of the rules.

Very fun, strategic game
This game was a little confusing to learn but once you get the hang of it, its a lot of fun. I have only played it as 2 player so I’m not sure how different it would be with more players. There are a couple components to the game so you can choose multiple strategies to win.

It's a very easy to understand kinda in the hour+ game
It's a very easy to understand kinda in the hour+ game, with a very unique dice mechanic, where if you rolled low values you can purchase less things but you get to do it first and if you rolled high values, you can purchase more things, but you get to do it last. In this way, there are some times you wish to get higher values and sometimes lower values. Game time of about one hour pretty much hits the spot for short length game for this size. It also have couple of cards that replaces some basic cards, which allow some more user interaction, if you want to .. :)

Dice Placement with Stratagy
This is a great dice allocation game that plays quick! There are several different paths to victory and different powers that can be obtained during the game to change how you play. Looking forward to playing again.
