These 56-year-old Eyes Can See the Numbers (With the Help of Reading Glasses)
Then again, I have needed reading glasses since 2006. This is a great package that will help you STOP sending your guitar or bass to the Tech and paying all that money for what is really a much simpler process than you might imagine. Over the past three years, I have struggled constantly to try to do my own setups. Every time it has ended in frustration and a trip to the Guitar Tech for a proper setup. So when I saw a video from Music Nomand showing every step using several of their products, I decided to get this and have one more go. This was (finally) a smart move. The tools included make adjusting truss rods and setting action height simple, so simple that even I can do it. The engraved white numbers are easy to read, more so than the etched tools that I have used in the past. The price is reasonable and will save you money in the long run if you are willing to put in the work to do a setup. I have used Music Nomad products for nearly two years now and have never had a bad experience with any of their merchandise. They are a fantastic company.

Not what I ordered...
<edit> After posting this review MN immediately reached out to me to see what they could do to make it right. As noted I have almost all their other products except for the tool kits. As noted below what I did get is fantastic and I use it 90% of the time now when doing setups. I'm changing my review to a 5 because they reached out. Regardless of what we work out, if anything. There is a reason I have depended on their products for the 8 years or so, because their products are fantastic. Posting this initial review showed me what I have suspected all along, they are a fantastic company as well. Let me start by saying I own hundreds of dollars worth of Music Nomad equipment and praise them to all my guitarist friends and customers. I had just gotten out of the hospital when I ordered this, it was supposed to be kit from the picture with numerous other tools. I wasn't able to open it, being unable to sit for a couple of months then when I did it only had the feeler gauge. No string action guide, no pick for nut testing but more importantly it didn't have any of the other tools, there were many, pictured when I ordered. Very disappointed for the first time with MN. Now it's only 3 items in "pack" which must have changed at some point. I will say the Truss Rod Gauge is fantastic, I have a swath of oily ones I hate to use but since 90% of the time you only need a 10 thou this is perfect. Great product but not for $30, $10? yea sign me up but not $30 for 1 item.

Great combo
I really love these tools, they have become my go to for most of my measurements and adjustments. For the price it is a little high, but they are quality and will last you a long time. The action gauge is great, and it my favorite. The other tools, while great, are essential just a really heavy oversized pick, and very small feeler gauge. I would absolutely recommend you buy the action gauge on its own, and get your self a set of feeler gauges that you can use for a multitude of purposes, rather than the 3 you get with this set.

Excellent Tools for setting up my guitar 🎸
These tools worked out perfectly for me and they’re super simple to use. I watched the “how-to” videos on the Nomad website and was able to set up my guitar in about an hour. I called a couple guitar shops to see if they could set up my guitar but it was going to cost $170-$300 and I might be without my guitar for up to 30 days, that wasn’t going to happen. I’m glad I stumbled upon this product on Amazon. Turns out my Action was on the high side. Great investment in yourself and your guitar! Definitely would recommend this. 10/10!

Essential for any guitarist
There's far too many guitarists (and other instrumentalists) who don't know how to service their instrument. These two tools make basic guitar setups quick and easy. Almost every guitar needs some degree of setup when you first get it and the difference is night and day. Order these ASAP.

It works.
It works. Here's what they tell you without "telling you"; If their setup directions seem a little weird, it's because they have figured out a setup process that takes the guitar "nut" out of the equation. Pretty much all of their guidelines are established using a capo on fret #1. You end up with a 95% great setup, that likely plays to about 50% of the guitar's potential. This is because the final step is "filing the nut". You probably don't have a set of nut files. It's frustrating because the nut is the one thing that guitar manufacturers seem to consistently neglect. I think that they want YOU to set the nut to YOUR SETUP, and avoid cutting it too low on the manufacturing end. Makes sense. But nut files don't really exist in the wild. They're specific to each string gauge, and to people who can justify owning them to use as tools of their trade. These 2 gauges are great though. I purchased them(and radius gauges) to set up an Ibanez RG Mikro for a 9yr old. That went SO well, that every guitar in the house received the inspection and treatment. It's just nice to have definitive numbers to work with when you're pushing limits and looking to optimize something like this. It's ever better to have this gauge data to help understand why a particular scenario may NOT quite be working out! There's just a lot of information to be collected using these tools. And a lot of time to be saved.
