How to Think Like Sherlock: Improve Your Powers of Observation, Memory and Ded

This little book summarises the methods that Sherlock Holmes is using. Due to the shortness of this book (roughly 200 pages with big letters) every aspect can only be approached in a brief manner. But there are many quotes from the original Sherlock canon to introduce or to confirm the authors point of view. Furthermore it is adequately illustrated. Scattered along the chapters are some quizzes and riddles for the reader to solve. I have to admit that maybe not all of those interactive conundrum are really necessary.

I bought this as a gift for a friend

Just okay… not as exciting as it seem - my daughter Luke usually not drop a book till she is done reading but this took weeks…🤷🏽‍♀️

Any reader of the Sherlock Holmes stories will get something from this aesthetically pleasing little book: entertainment, puzzles and knowledge. All the relevant aspects of psychology are covered, for example, Lateral Thinking, Logic, Concentration, 'Luck' and Memory amongst others. The Holmes related puzzles, some of which require the reader to have some experience of the detective's stories, are very enjoyable, if not frustrating at times! Perhaps a shade short of what I expected, nevertheless, an enjoyable work presented in an entertaining way.
