This is the first time I have used a product like this, so I have nothing else to compare it to. That said, I've used this as detail markings on fur and other fabrics and it takes several layers to build up. It does dry fast and it holds well, so building up the paint isn't an issue. The intensity of the colors that you see in normal light is an indicator of the intensity that you will see under UV and blue light. This makes sense when you understand how pigments and added effect concentrations work. If you do not want vivid, neon colors on your body at all times, you should try a clear-based UV reactive paint. The best glow seems to be achieved when in the presence of blue light more than with purple or UV. This could be a result of the lighting system in the environment I was in, though, and I've only used the red paint so far. I received a ton of positive comments on the paint effects at a rave. With the colors that you get and the low price, this pack is worth experimenting with. I will definitely be purchasing more of their colors separately. Update: After a few months of working on materials with this paint, such as acrylic fur, it seems durable and held up in hot and extreme cold environments. I was able to to work with a true 365nm black light and the intensity is amazing. It's only slightly more intense compared to when viewed under pure blue light, so I added a full five stars for the range of glow that this paint provides under a broad range of UV/blue light.

DIDNT GLOW IN THE DARK

I really love how bright these are. I used them on an old painting and it really brought it to life. They are a little thick and small. You can thin them out but then they don't seem as bright.

I used these paints to decorate a Halloween pumpkin which had unfortunately gone a little soft on one side, making it unsuitable for carving. I decided to paint it instead. I had just ordered the paints thinking I’d use them for some Halloween decorating purpose. The pumpkin turned out awesome. The paints exceeded my expectations. I have attached pictures both in the light and under black light. We will be using black light in the yard for Halloween. The pumpkin looks awesome in both lights. Note that I did use some other paints. The whitish-green outlines of the face were made with a glow in the dark fabric paint. The red outline of the mouth and purple along the zigzag line at top were made w a glow in the dark enamel (both fluoresce the same bluish shade w black light whereas the paints being reviewed here gliw different colors, as desired). The eyes, nose and mouth were created with flat black acrylic to give a “reverse glow” effect where a cut out pumpkin face would light up. I’m thrilled with the outcome. I will use these again. There’s plenty more paint, enough for at least a dozen pumpkins. My only complaint is that the paints are not very opaque and require several coats to fully cover.
