This makeup brush cleansing shampoo removes the makeup from my brushes and my sponges easily. I typically use another brand makeup remover or even plain soap if I don't have makeup remover. It all works. Honestly, I don't think it is necessary to buy a special product like this. However, I do like to use them. I do think that this should be sold just in packs of 2 instead of 8. 8 bottles of this stuff would last me a decade. I was just sent one bottle and I am happy with that. You only need a small amount of the shampoo to clean several brushes or sponges. I typically grab a handful of brushes and put the heads together to clean them initially. Then, I drop them in the bottom of the sink and rub each head individually to get out all the makeup. For sponges, you want to squeeze them instead of rub them. Everything came out right away and I laid them on a paper towel to dry. I would definitely recommend this shampoo if you don't like the hassle and extra elbow grease required of regular soap.

A little expensive but really handy on the go and when travelling to ensure make up brushes are clean. Good to use when in between a deep clean not as a substitute for one.
