Thin is In (my Tesla)
I keep my iPhone in a heavy leather protective case. I was looking for a way to easily charge it in my old Tesla Model S. There’s a flip down metal door on the console between the seats that looked like just the place to do this. What I needed was a very thin Qi charging pad that would penetrate through the leather case to charge the phone. And I wanted a non-bracket way to keep the phone secured while flinging the car around and maybe even while flipping the storage compartment lid down. (That’s why this really thin Qi pad fit the bill.) Well, this gadget and two pairs of really strong neodymium magnets did the trick. I offset the Qi coil slightly so that I could see its charging LED. The phone snaps into place and pulls off with just a simple grab. One unanticipated “feature” is that now the phone also sticks to metal surfaces, like some restaurant tables. Good prevention for sliding off the table during an earthquake, I guess.

DO NOT BUY - DOESN'T WORK
I've tested both on multiple qi charging devices and neither charger worked at all when plugged in. None of the devices had cases on them. The blue light would come on when I tested it with my watch, but it didn't initiate the charging sequence.

They work.
I was going to put these in a project but I never bothered to do the project but I lost my phone cable and charged my phone for a month with one of these.

Ok charger module at a great price.
I've used these for projects to make a few chargers. I'm finding them a little picky about the devices they charge. My Corsair mouse charges fine, but my Samsung Buds 2 and Buds Live don't communicate properly. The charge speed is a little slow, but I've never hooked it up to a higher power input plug, so I don't want to say it can't output a fast charge wattage. I've found it relatively flexible when designing cases for various devices. But there was a little trial and error when modeling up the mounting holes (tough to get a perfect measurement). Overall, I liked it, but it will have limited usage due to the compatibility.

Good building block for a custom charging station
This was used to make a 3D printed tray for my earbuds to wirelessly charge. It's nice to be able to toss them in and not have to position the earbuds case carefully.
