Pokemon MB-01 Monster Collection Monster Ball

Looks great and has a weight in the bottom that makes it stand with the red side up. It's just a plastic shell though, so you can't trap any fauna beaten to within an inch of their lives with it.Good for cosplay or putting candy in for kids. My wife's boyfriend put an old Nintendo SP game cartridge in there as a gift for me so I had something to play when he comes over after his shift at the shipyard.Highly recommended.

I purchased this for Cosplay and just to fashion whenever I go out for my Pokémon GO walks. Because of the way the ball opens wide and closes, it can be a little tricky to open. So as a toy for a kid to play with constantly, it’s best to just give them one of those belt clip ones or the yo-yo ones that launch plushies. Of course, they won’t care about accuracy to the source material as teenagers and adults. If you want a great prop, even for carrying around a small Pokémon figurine, this is perfect for anyone who isn’t trying to break their bank! It’s not 100%, straight from the games/anime/manga levels of accurate, but it gets the job done for a fantastic price! Better yet, because it’s a durable plastic, it’s easy to modify with strong magnets to make it stick to your belt! I’m going to try that with a fabric style belt, for best results. Also, those mold filling marks aren’t a big deal for me, personally, because it actually helps the ball sit perfectly balanced for room decoration.

First off, the packaging on this was clearly opened. They just tapped it back shut, and you can't use the packaging to display it. Then comes the worse, part. I hoped for a shiny, metallic pokeball like in the photos but got a matte one with a bulky exterior hinge instead. It's hard to open, and has NOTHING included with it. I feel like they opened it, took the pokemon out, and then resealed it again. Double selling, maybe?I do not recommend the quality of these.

The ball itself is beautiful in design, and doesn't have the same glaring problem all Pokeballs have had before it: The hinge on the outside. The hinge is on the inside of the ball, which doesn't compromise the aesthetic of the ball on the outside or make it feel awkward to hold.There is weight in the bottom so that it balances, and "wobbles", as it would if it had just captured a Pokemon, which is also a fun thing that I'm not sure why it took so long to figure out.There is only one drawback, being that if you push the button on the front, it doesn't flip open as most Pokeballs before it. As someone who wanted one for display it isn't so much a problem for me, but I can see it being a disappointment for a kid or other collectors who may want the feature. That holds it back from a full five stars.Other than that this is a beautiful Pokeball that any collector should be happy with, or any kid with dreams of being a Pokemon master, if you don't want to pay the $100 for the official replica that was revealed.

High quality toy - seems to be the only official product with the hinge hidden on the outside. I'm using it for a cosplay, and it looks pretty convincing. Only disappointment is that the button is a single piece of moulded plastic - it doesn't press down.

When I first ordered one, I got the metal looking one with no back hinge where it can look like a complete ball that opens up but is not taken apart like an egg. However, when I ordered it again, two of the five has been delivered to me and they end up nonmetallic looking with the little latch on the back. I don’t know how the other three is going to be, but I’ll update on it when it comes in. Very disappointed on the inconsistency.

Nice little collectors item. would have liked it to be spring opening but it's got a solid hinge and splendid color. Worth it for any hardcore fan

Perfect size, hidden hinge, great for cosplay. Not sure how to properly open it, but it gets the job done. Great prop. Enjoy my Misty cosplay!
