Franklin Sports Recreational Bocce Set

I bought this to take on holiday. The whole set weighs just over 8kg. A significant dent in your luggage allowance. I returned them and got a plastic set that weigh about 3.5kg. This is a nice set, but not for air travel.

I've never played Bocce before so have no experience from which to rate this set relative to other Bocce balls, however, so far the balls have held up fine and the game is fun to play. The one drawback is the bag - it is thin material and as I expected it ripped quickly while carrying the set the first time. The full 5 stars is for the Bocce balls themselves as the bag, while it would be nice for a higher quality bag, I wouldn't want to pay much more for it since I have plenty of heavy duty bags and I just grabbed one of them for the set. For other folks who may not have heavy duty bags around, and if you are new to this game, note that the balls are fairly heavy, particularly when you have all of them together so you will likely want to get a better quality bag to carry them in long term.

I am by no means a bocce expert so I have nothing to compare this to. But I have purchased cheap sport set products before. This seems to be nicer quality, and it has a nice vintage wooden case. This was a great addition to our backyard party. For the limited time of use we have played with these, they seem to be holding up fine and look nice. Works for me!
