Very happy with this scale. My 20 year old Tanita scale finally retired, and I wanted the same brand, so I found this scale. It tracks weight, body fat AND water. It's programmable for 2 people and it's also easy to program right out of the box.

I've owned this scale for almost a year now and can say that so far, it's a great way to monitor your weight, as well as estimate your body fat percentage. As with all bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) based devices, the results are still calculated values and may not reflect true body fat percentage. The instructions manual gives some tips that will help give better, more accurate values. The scale itself is pretty consistent. When measuring weight, body fat %, and body water % multiple times in a row, it gives the same set of results. The body fat % this scale gives is also very close in value to another scale that I've tried that was used in a university lab.

Highly recommend this scale. Its accuracy is good and gives you body fat and water % as well. Programmable for 2 people as well. I have an older one as well (20 years old) but decided I needed a new one. Love it!

This is a great scale. It produces very consistent results; always giving me the same reading (or +-0.2 lbs) when measuring back to back. The reviewers who say it's inaccurate probably do not know how to use a scale properly. If your weight changes several pounds from one reading to another, you most likely either moved the scale or are standing differently on it. Also, no impedance analysis scale will give you an accurate reading of your body fat. It greatly depends on your hydration level, time of day of the measurement and your body composition. This means there are two things you need to realize to use the body fat function properly: 1. the number displayed is just a guideline, it may be off by up to 10% depending on your unique body composition; what you need to track is CHANGE over time 2. you need to measure under the same circumstances each time for data to be accurate, since this is difficult to do, your best bet is to take frequent measurements (each day or week) and look at the trend over time Here's how I successfully use this scale: I measure my weight and body fat every morning after my morning toilet, wearing the same clothes, standing the same way on the scale and never moving it around. My weight varies by at most 2 lbs from day to day (usually much less) and body fat at most +-1%. I then record my stats in an iPhone app that can be used to show and plot the data over time. If you look at some weeks or months worth of data, you will definitely see a trend and the data becomes very credible in representing how much fat vs lean mass you've gained or lost.
