WixGear Universal Flat Stick On Dashboard Magnetic Car Mount Holder for Cell Phones and Mini Tablets with Fast Swift-Snap Technology - Extra Slim

I had a mini cooper and used the click and drive for years and later used the craven speed attachment when iPhones got bigger and no longer fit the original holder - which was fantastic. So when I got a Hyundai Elantra recently I needed to figure out what to do with my phone. Cravenspeed didn’t have something as simple as this orbibeiiodbhwve bought through them. Granted some say you don’t need to worry about your phone as the dash has a complete connect to it via Bluetooth and plugin. But I find it clunky if I need to check something more specific. So I came upon WixGear. The Elantra has a circle on the left side of the steering wheel. I thought it had something to do with the Wi-Fi but found out quickly, it’s just decoration. Odd but a perfect place to put the round WixGear. Reading the one star reviews, I hesitated but jumped off the cliff and bought. So glad I did. It works like the cravenspeed. The magnet is strong. People complaining are either using something other than a regular sized cell phone - it’s not made for a tablet - or they didn’t clean the area or something - because mine worked perfectly. You have to be careful when you pull off the adhesive backing. So you don’t rip off the adhesive rubber pad underneath it which is what sticks to your dash. That’s the only issue. But as soon as I saw that you had to be ginger with it - pulling off the paper layer first leaving the rubber adhesive intact, it’s clear sailing. It’s perfect. And I couldn’t be happier. The other complaints people stated about the magnet - you must attach the magnet between your cell phone and its case. NOT on the phone as some have stated which can ruin your phone if you use a magnetic charger. You will have to take your case off due to it having a magnet attached inside the case when you charge it on a magnet charger. Or it will damage your phone. Cravenspeed states this in their instructions so I was well aware of it for this kind of magnet attachment. Once you know that - you’ll be good. This is exactly what I wanted and needed. So I’m very pleased.

This is a dual review comparing the WizGear magnet mount and the Nekteck magnet mount. WizGear - Product comes with the magnet mount and adhesive on the back, a circle metal mount and rectangle metal mount, both with adhesive on the back as well. Also comes with a wet/dry wipe to clean the surface before you apply the adhesive magnet mount. Nekteck - Product comes with the same materials as mentioned in the WizGear. Comparison - The Nekteck adhesive on the magnet mount covers the whole mount, while the WizGear covers quite a bit less. (As you can see in the pictures) Both Nekteck and WizGear magnet mounts are practically identical in Depth and Diameter. The adhesive in the Nekteck "seemed" more sticky than the WizGear's adhesive. (Although I can't say for sure and did not do any scientific test or anything. This was just my observation as i pulled off the cover from the adhesive.) Both Nekteck and WizGear metal mounts are pretty much the same in size and adhesive. I used 1 Nekteck and 1 WizGear to mount my tablet with the rectangle plates. So if one fails that should give a bit more insight on which one works better. However for now, I recommend either product. Both are low profile and seem good quality. Although I will be ordering the Nekteck again and not the WizGear because of the Adhesive covering the whole magnet on the Nekteck. I will update my review if one of the mounts fail. Also its also worth noting that both these magnets are STRONG. I'm more worried about the adhesive coming loose than the magnet not being strong enough to hold the phone or tablet.

Ive always thought the large cell phone holster adhered to the dash with some coiled flex-wire etc etc was an eyesore - and too tacky to ever consider for the value of having my phone front & center while driving. This WizGear unit is barely noticeable when not being used, only uses a simple magnet to adhere, and works perfectly. I've been bragging about this little device for the last couple months since i bought it to anyone riding in my car. I'll probably buy a couple more to give to family members due to its attractive price-point and the value its brought me. Its a cool little gadget and im very satisfied & impressed with it, and WizGear for that matter, whom id previously never heard of. Oh yeah - and installation takes about 3 minutes.

Excellent product

I bought the vent mount one a while ago and I love it. I bought this one to stick on the wall beside my bed so it can charge my phone without having to be wedged under my pillow. When not charging, the metal in the end of the charger sticks to the mount so it doesn't disappear down the side. Ideal product!

Works like a charm! Bought it for my hubby as a stocking stuffer and I think I need one for myself! Strong magnet, even with a phone case!
