I was using alcohol to clean track, but it would not get off more stubborn areas. This works great cleaning up old EZ track. Used a tack free cloth, dab a bit on and wipe the rails. I was amazed at how much gunk this cleaned off with just a little rubbing effort. I also used it to clean up the trucks on a locomotive that used to need a push to start, moved right away after cleaning up the track and the trucks with this product. Rub it on sparingly and then look at the cloth and the grease and gunk that comes of the wheels and track. Recommend this product, it's worth the price.

Tracks need to be cleaned over time. Had left train tracks stored away for a year. Took them out for Christmas setup around tree. Train contact was sporadic. Cleaned tracks and difference was amazing.

First of all I am NOT a believer in "Snake-Oil" products. However, I was at my wits end because both of my Bachmann DCC (with sound) locomotives would momentarily "stall out" when going over crossovers and some of my switches. I cleaned the track manually, and then purchased a "track cleaning car" with an actual abrasive stone suspended underneath it. Neither of these did any appreciable good. I was also concerned about actually grinding down my track with the car. As a last result, I purchased a bottle of this stuff, used it to clean my track, and now all is well. I have been running my trains for the last week or so with absolutely no problems. I don't know what they did if or how they did it, but kudos to Bachmann. The only problem is that it is expensive, but this is probably the last bottle I'll have to buy. I now have two varieties of "Snake-oil" I believe in : this and "Sea-Foam". I may have to reconsider my position on this.
