Finally! it's THE one
Let me start by saying that this keyboard is a MUST for anyone! It is absolutely the best thing I have put my fingers on in quite a while......LOL For the last 3 months I have been on the hunt for a keyboard that would meet all my crazy criteria...and I finally found it. First, some background: I am a software engineer and have been writing code and working at a desk in front a keyboard for the last 27 years, so a keyboard (and mouse) is my tool for the trade. In addition, I am extremely picky. More than just for the purpose of creature comforts, I look for "utility" in my tech and for things to be solid, good quality and made in a logical way. For a keyboard, I had this list of criteria: 1. Backlit keys 2. Quiet keys 3. Primary dedicated media buttons that do NOT require a Fn/secondary key to be pressed for access. 4. Easy volume controls 5. Quiet keys 6. Solid build that does not bend down with each key press 7. Multi-colors for the backlit keys, if possible 8. Quiet keys 9. Mechanical-style keys (height and actuation) 10. Properly spaced keys 11. Quiet keys 12. "Linear" Enter key (not "L" shape.....why...why?) Did I mention Quiet keys??? That actually should have been at the top of the list. I know it is a personal preference, and mine is not the clicky noise...it's just too distracting to me. Well, folks - this is it! This is the keyboard that answers ALL the criteria above. To date, I have tried over 20 keyboards and none hit the mark. I've tried cheap ones, medium and expensive ones. Couldn't find it until this. The keys are made of a nice material that provides just that little "grip" you need not to slide off of the surface. Actuation is amazing and the bottom of the key press is dampened (noise-side) in such a nice way that you can barely hear it. I really do mean barely!! SO many reviews and manufacturer write-ups talk about quiet keys...but they were not. This keyboard is absolutely that - quite and pleasant (if you can even say that). Keys are spaced out nicely and typing accuracy is very high. I particulary like the fact that I can set RGB values for the backlit color of the keys...that's just excellent. The software that gets installed by Razer is very good as well. Intuitive and gives you super control over every aspect of the keyboard. I've only had this keyboard ONE day, and already love it. If I think about it, I will return in 30 days and add an update. Price - I wasn't too "comfortable" with spending that type of cash for a keyboard...but now that it's here and I am typing this review with it...it was worth every penny! You DO get what you pay for. If you are in the market - spend the extra dollars and get this! You will NOT be disappointed!!! :)

Excellent Keyboard
My Logitech keyboard died a week before Thanksgiving. In an effort to escape Logitech's software (and modern hardware quality control), I decided to give the Razer Huntsman V2 (w/ Razer Red switches) a chance. Sure, it's not a custom mechanical setup with exotic Japanese switches, but it gives a premium enough feel. I love the sound dampening, the smoothness of the keys, and the relatively short actuation distance. It's not silent, per se, but it's the quietest keyboard in my house (including various laptops). I've seen comments online suggesting the keys don't light up bright enough. I'm partial to more subdued keyboard lighting, and I can vouch for the fact that I haven't had to dim the board much. Other brands use lighting that glows substantially around the keys, instead of just through the letters. Some of Razer's marketing images show bright halos around the keys, and some show none at all. In practice, they glow a little at the top of each key, but not very much at all. The only serious downside I encountered was with Razer's software. It's not very intuitive in general. But my specific complaint is that it isn't easy to use external tools to switch game profiles. I really wish these hardware companies would open source their software! Now, for why I returned it in a week. The Huntsman V2 Analog popped up on sale over Black Friday weekend for only a few buck more than I spent. I figured it was a no-brainer upgrade--how wrong I was. The analog version has added lighting around the base of the board (it looks great!) and offers analog functionality on every single key. Plus it has slightly stiffer springs. Unfortunately, it has none of the sound dampening of the regular Huntsman V2, and the keys give a loud, drum-like clack when bottomed out or rebounding. Analog, on a keyboard, is a bit of a gimmick, but one cool thing the analog version offers is adjustable actuation points. This gives you the ability to tune your typing and gaming experience. I agonized over the stiffer springs and loud typing. Ultimately, I returned the regular, quiet Huntsman V2 in favor of keeping the loud, but adjustable, Huntsman V2 Analog. Though I very seriously considered keeping both!!

The audio EQ lighting is cool! You can drag your fingers across the linear and hardly hear it - try that with any other keyboard!

Excellent Keyboard, but a Few Minor Quirks
The Razer Huntsman V2 is fast, responsive, and satisfying to type on. The optical switches register keystrokes instantly, making it perfect for gaming, and the tactile feedback is a joy for typing too. The RGB lighting looks amazing, and the keyboard feels solid and well-built. My only minor complaints are the higher price point and that the Razer Synapse software can be a little finicky at times. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it can be a bit frustrating when trying to customize lighting or macros. Overall, this is a fantastic keyboard for gamers and typists alike, just with a couple small things keeping it from being a perfect 5 stars.

Greased lighting clickyness!
The Razer Huntsman V2 Analong keyboard looks and feels fantastic! The keys almost feel like they are hugging each of my individual fingertips. while at the same time, being very sturdy and yet, offer little to no resistance going down, but spring back up with urgency. The wrist rest is by far the most comfortable one that I have used, even when not using this keyboard I still use the wrist rest when I can. The dedicated media keys are surprisingly one of my favorite parts of the board. They are simple, well placed, and tactile. The USB port on the side is very convenient. You may think you want low actuation points, but you may not realize how your fingers are actually resting on your keyboard right now, and that is more than enough pressure to enter a keystroke. Because of this, I did not like the keyboard instantly, but it took time to get used to it and to find the right actuation points to setup. The only negative for me, and I'm nitpicking here, is the lack of wire organization that other Razer keyboards have. Would have been nice, but not a deal breaker. The RGB board and rest look amazing, especially after setting up the Razer Synapse visual effects. This is my 4th Razer keyboard and I have several from other brands as well. I honestly love the feel of the keys and although I don't care too much to have everything RGB, Razer lighting has always been one of the best, in my opinion. The dedicated media keys are not something I would have thought to mention but other boards that I have used and have media keys are far out of the way and not as efficient to properly adjust on the fly while in the middle of something hectic like an intense pvp battle. Every time I come back to using a Razer product I wonder why I ever left, but throughout the years I have noticed that there will always be an update to their Synpase software that ruins the associated hardware and sometimes that following update to fix it takes too long, or causes a different problem. But back to the keyboard...I love it. Just know that you are going to need some time to build proper muscle memory to utilize it fully without accidental keystrokes.

Best gamer keyboards on the market.
I love my Razer keyboards. They are durable, and they have a lot of cool features like lighting and the ability to control what the individual keys do. For instance, I can shut off the caps lock key since I never use it and it only becomes a nuisance that computer manufacturers should remove It's a carryover from the typewriter days where that would come in handy. I have owned about 3 of them since the company started. It's generally the only brand I will buy. It's super high quality and long-lasting, and I love the features. It's the best gamer keyboard on the market. My only complaint is that they have been messing around with the software, making it hard to keep up with the changes. Most of them really don't make any sense, and they should just leave things alone. We have a mature product with mature support/configuration software. They really need to tread lightly when modifying the software. Unless there is a major need to change it, leave it alone. Otherwise, both of my Razer products (this keyboard and a Naga Trinity mouse) are amazing, and I love them. I even have a second set so that if I go to the hospital (something that is a good possibility), I have it packed up already, along with my spare power supply and spare cables, so I can get my stuff together quickly to head up to the ER when I am sick. Razer keyboards and mice are the only brand I buy. I compare them with other products and just don't find any that are better. Keep up the great work and please, just keep the config software simple. There is no need to overly complicate that.

Lightning-Fast Precision: The Ultimate Gaming Keyboard Experience!
The Razer Huntsman V2 Optical Gaming Keyboard is a powerhouse for gamers and enthusiasts who value speed and precision. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was designed with both performance and comfort in mind. Here's what stood out to me: Performance & Features: Linear Optical Switches: These switches are unbelievably smooth, and they register keypresses without any delay. Perfect for games that demand rapid inputs like FPS and MOBAs. 8000Hz Polling Rate: This feature makes every action feel instantaneous. The responsiveness is unmatched, giving me a real edge in fast-paced games where every millisecond counts. Build Quality & Comfort: Sturdy Construction: The keyboard feels solid, with an aluminum top plate that adds durability while maintaining a sleek look. Detachable Wrist Rest: The plush leatherette wrist rest makes long gaming sessions way more comfortable, preventing strain on the wrists. Customization & Aesthetics: Razer Synapse Integration: I love the extensive customization options—from macros to lighting effects. The Chroma RGB lighting is vibrant and syncs perfectly with other Razer gear. Sound Dampening: There’s a noticeable reduction in noise, which makes the keystrokes satisfyingly silent compared to other mechanical keyboards. Verdict: Whether you're a competitive gamer or just want the best keyboard experience possible, the Razer Huntsman V2 is an exceptional choice. The combination of optical switches and an 8000Hz polling rate elevates gaming performance to another level. It’s a bit of an investment, but the performance boost and build quality make it absolutely worth it.
