This product does exactly what it's supposed to do: Clean your Keurig machine. You get three uses from one bottle (yes, it's frustrating they don't have a measurement on the bottle, marking the thirds). Put it in the regular Keurig water reservoir and start the Keurig going. Cup after cup after cup. Once low enough it won't run more water, take the reservoir off and rinse it. Then fill it up and run water through again, cup after cup after cup. You'll fill the reservoir up three times with fresh water, per the instructions, to rinse out all of this product. It's simple enough, but time consuming. Afterwards, your Keurig should be good as new. Personally, I like the Urnex K-Cup Cleaning Cups, too. They clean the needles, specifically, and you can see all sorts of soapy residue come through. One note: Keurig, themselves, states, in their instructions, to run a cycle without a K-Cup, just water, after each and every use. This helps keep the machine clean. Doing so will allow you to go longer without using products like this.

We have a 10+ year old Techni Vorm coffee maker that had never been deep cleaned/descaled before. Dezcal made it look and perform like new! Great, easy to use product.

This was purchased specifically to descale a ProBoil 3-in-1 hot water tap water tank, which automatically shuts down when needing to be descaled. It’s out of warranty now ,and the manufacturers own descaler was out of stock for quite some time. To preserve the ProBoil warranty, they say to use their descaler, and one 200ml bottle of their premixed solution costs more than the cost of this concentrated Urnex Dezcal liquid. The manufacturers solution is made using the Urnex Dezcal liquid, so I was delighted to find the concentrate on Amazon. We have very hard water and have previously used 2 bottles of the manufacturers solution for one descale. The Dezcal needs to be diluted with water, one part Dezcal to 10 parts water, and you need to wear protective gloves and goggles whilst handling it, and to ventilate the room. The Urnex website provides all the details on how to use it and what it can be used on. I will certainly stick to using this for all my future descaling of my ProBoil 3, and kettle. I think it should also be ok to clean my coffee machine too, although Urnex do have a range of products to also clean coffee machines and milk frothers. Our ProBoil manual suggests the unit needs to be on and water temperature at 80 degrees when adding the descaler. Ours just switches off so the water in the boiler tank cools down, and it will not turn back on until descaled. The unit stopped working a couple of months ago so we reverted to using a kettle, which also showed signs of limescale build up. With the boiler switched off, I drained off some of the now cold water from the bottom tap using the drain hose, then re closed the tap. I made up a 400ml water/ 40ml Dezcal solution, disconnected the cooled vent hose and slowly poured most of the mixture into the boiler tank. The Dezcal solution must not be left in the unit or kettle for more than 30 minutes. I was concerned that the water in the tank was cold so maybe this would not work. Around 30 minutes reconnect the vent hose, then drain the unit into a bowl by opening the bottom tap connected to the drain hose. Reclose the bottom tap once unit is drained, switch boiler back on and allow to refill and reheat to 80 degrees. When switched back on, the boiler came back to life. At this point, drain the water from the tank using the hot key, so the water drains out via the kitchen tap. Switch the boiler back off, and again drain remaining water from the unit’s bottom tap through the drain hose into a bowl. Close the drain tap, and store the hose away. Switch boiler back on and allow it to refill and reheat, then drain the boiler again using the hot key so that the water flows out of the kitchen tap. It is suggested the unit is drained twice, but I did it 3 times. The boiler is now happily working again, and I have plenty of the Dezcal concentrate for future descaling. I used up the remaining made-up solution by pouring it into an empty kettle and leaving it for 30 minutes. They do say to ventilate the room when descaling, as some odour may be given off. You could see the limescale immediately lift of the base of the kettle and start to dissolve, and the kettle looked completely clean inside after the descale. Empty the kettle, then fill and boil the kettle a couple of times to rinse out the descaler solution before reuse. This stuff is fantastic!
