Not recommended
Let alone a 8 year old boy, even an adult will struggle with the assembly due to the poor instructions. There are no step by step instructions and the ones provided are too tiny and over complex .

Check as soon as u get it so that u can return it
There was 2 pieces missing from the set.... Opened the steel works box late could not return it... Was a loss for me
